I’m a PNE fan and as you know we signed Daryl Horgan & Andy Boyle from you and Sean Maguire and Kevin O’Connor from Cork. Cork have now taken one of our youth team on loan (Michael Howard) which hopefully will benefit both clubs. We’ve a few exciting youth prospects and it wouldn’t be the worst thing Dundalk had ever done if they took one of them on loan.

Daryl is getting game time but mostly from the subs bench. Most fans like him, and hopefully he can still make the step up. Andy is on loan at Doncaster and playing every game at present.

Loans from England haven’t been on our radar it seems. Cork sold their players to Preston and probably developed a relationship. We just lost ours

Sam Byrne is on loan from Everton, while Steven Kinsella was also a loan deal last year

Forgot about the latter entirely.

Assumed former is being released as opposed to the kind of developmental loan Jaycee was getting at,

Website update on loan players

We catch-up with the couple of Dundalk FC players currently out on loan. Carlton Ubaezuonu and Jake O’Connor chat with dundalkfc.com about their time at Galway United FC and Athlone Town FC.

Not only does Carlton slip back to Galway after playing for Dundalk in the LSC against Rovers, he goes and scores for them against Athlone last night

Sam Byrne's Loan spell at Glentoran ended 3 months early, he made 6 appearances off the bench for them in 3 months, doesn't bode well for his Dundalk FC career as we've seen so little of him. He is contracted until the end of 2019 though...

Gavin on Twitter

"It's unfortunate but it just hasn't worked out here for Sam," said Glens boss Ronnie McFall. "He's been a good, honest lad and I'd like to thank him for his efforts and wish him all the very best for his future in the game."

The new contract he was offered remains absolutely baffling
