Me too Wexford! But if we can't beat that shower we might as well give up! There is no point in even thinking about Cork or Derry if we don't bury these!

I expect Drogheda to play it tight and compact in a typically well organised Mahon-Gill fashion.

We are justifiable favourites and I am hoping for a strong performance tonight and I am expecting 3 points, assuming that the attitude and spirit is as normal from a Stephen Kenny team

The defending is so ropey, all of them. It's like Boyle was a band aid covering a gaping wound. We look good going forward at least. Would be surprised if we keep them at 1.

There's something about the work rate or concentration that just seems off.

Love Garts but really wonder about his head after the Euro matches and cup final, beaten by Griffin in a challenge that should have been 100% his at start of second half and now Gannon could be fucked in the follow up.

We are very lucky, so far, that Shelbyville are poor because this is all so loose

Good win and a decent 3 points, overall performance was maybe 6/10, we are still missing that spark throughout the side, but I think we ended the match with no more than 4 who started the cup final, so to be fair the changes have been significant. Duffy was by far the brightest spark, but it was great to see McMillan back, two nice goals too from the pair.

The MF is down to the bare bones, McGrath was lively, Duffy MOTM, Shields is getting there in terms of fitness, but Clifford still not doing it for me, this is a huge opportunity for him and I'm not sure he is taking it. He should he owning it in the middle. I was glad to see Stewart start, and he did ok. Just look at the list of those absent in the MF though, McEleney, O'Donnell, Benson and Mountney who was on the bench, that's a serious turnover in staff ! (not to mention Finn)

O'Donnell will give the team a huge lift when he returns, pity Benson is out for so long, but as I said, considering the injuries, delighted to get the 3 points, and it was a good nights work.

Reports now suggesting Gannon out for more than 8 weeks with medial ligament damage, we are just getting hammered with injuries at the min. Chance for Vemmelund now to go straight into that role, big blow on Gannon all the same.

I know he's just getting back to fitness but I lost count of the amount of times Shields lost the ball tonight. Gary Rogers was poor again tonight imo. His kicking was brutal and his first touch was far too heavy. Anyway all that matters was the 3 points tonight and move onto Finn Harps next week.

His passing and timing is way off. He needs games. He'll get there.

I think it was a reasonable nights work. Vemmelund looked ok at centre back and deputised well for Gannon when he went off so the defence was disrupted and rotated and were ok. Sheilds had a couple of sloppy passes but as the game went on he got more up to speed. Game time for Stewart, McMillan was sharp but missed a sitter. I think Clifford will only improve too. It is a bit like the first season under SK where there are sparks of what can be played. Considering players not available its was a good run out

Of the 14 players who featured last night it is worth noting that 7 of them are new signings (5 out of starting 11)

Niclas Vemmelund
Sean Hoare
Conor Clifford
Jamie McGrath
Thomas Stewart
Michael Duffy
Steven Kinsella

To add to this is in the fact that Shields and McMillan are not yet up to full match fitness

In the circumstances it was an encouraging performance and a good result. This team will continue to improve week on week
