Finn Harps V Dundalk | Fri 7 Apr | 8pm | Finn Park

Postby Ezeikial » Sat Apr 01, 2017 8:18 pm

Next up is a Finn Harps side who have had some mixed results so far.

Although there are no league rules to prevent it, presumable the clubs have an understanding that Ciaran O'Connor will not feature for Harps.

Vemmuland obviously comes in for Gannon with Gartland likely to partner either Hoare or Barrett

If McEleney is fit you would expect to see him back in for Stewart.

It's a chance for this team to gel and build some more momentum along with 3 points please

O'Connor is injured anyway, regardless of whether or not he could play. Pulled hamstring after 20 minutes against Shamrock Rovers.

Should be an interesting game on a brutal pitch.

Many coming up?

Finn Harps website match preview reads like it was written by Ollie Horgan - almost completely dismissing their chances - I doubt Stephen Kenny will be lulled into any false security and that the team is ready and able to scrap for a victory.

Neither Dundalk FM or local station Highland Radio will be providing commentary -

Diarmaid Doherty will have LIVE regular updates from Finn Park on Highland Radio this Friday evening in association with McGettigans Applegreen, Lifford

Two goals in 3 starts is a superb return and just the ticket we needed. I also haven't heard too much about last night but looking back on drogs game he scored 1 & made the other two.

We are such a different team with him, his back to goal setting up the link play then quick turn to get into position.

Great win last night and definitively a case of welcome back Davy.

A hard fought win against a very defensive Harps side, first half in particular they had 8 men behind the ball with the bus well parked. Vemmulund impressed, in for the injured Gannon & his cross for Mc Millan's first was top class. Hoare looked comfortable with Gartland, good to see another choice for Stephen Kenny in that position. Gartland hit the bar in the 2nd half, Harps opened up by then but once Mc Millan scored again the game was over & 3 away points were in the bag. Duffy played well with plenty of runs down the left flank but Clifford had another mediocre display to be honest. Finally, a decent away support with a little over 200 up from Dundalk, great to see it.

We again move on & Bray next Friday, this will not be easy, hopefully we can build on last night & get a run of victories together.

Poor game.. but I liked the defence...vemmulund played well at full back and hoare looks a good centre half although not very tall... Duffy played ok but needs more fight in him to win the ball.. been bullied off the ball too handy... McGrath played well worked hard some nice touches... good to see o donnell back .. centre mid hasntbeen bossing games recently! But very confident this squad will go on too win the league

It's the fine weather everyone's too busy drinking cans in the back yard.... Anyway a home game this Friday so we'll all have plenty to give out about again :-)

On the game on Friday will we see SOD back or is another substitute appearance more likely to ease him in?

Yeah should be one for the spectators as well, Bray's matches have averaged nearly 4 goals per game, if the rain stays away we should see plenty through the gate too.

It would be nice to see skip get a good run out anyway, we've been sorely lacking in any sort of cohesion in the middle of the park, Clifford hasn't been up to much as of yet. I've been impressed with Vemmelund so far and would like to see Hoare as well.

Hopefully a good crowd, good game and more importantly 3 points!
Mon the Town!
