Went to Slane for the first time. Quality line-up. Wouldn't go through it for any other line-up. Though Queens stole the show. Chilis were on top form though.

Agree, QOTSA were head and shoulders above all other acts. PJ Harvey who can be excellent was somewhat lost on an audience clearly unfamilar with her work. Still don't rate slane much as a venue, the 5 mile walk to the "natural amphitheatre" (i.e. hill) and propensity of the curvature of the earth or some bogman from navan's head to obscure your view is a bit of an irritant. Long live Leeds festival.
Woe to the defeated.

what's funny is here in America everyone has seen U2's video for Sunday Bloody Sunday shot at Red Rock's outside of Denver, with the big torches and fog and all. And they all think they (the bands) will get the torches, not a chance it was something U2 did, which just happened to work well on a rainy, foggy Denver night.
Let me illuminate to you the precarious situation in which you have found yourself.
I am the one they call in when things go wrong.
And things have indeed gone wrong.
