Stephen Kenny Sacked

It's seems managing his home town team didn't work out after all. I actually rate him highly as a manager but thankfully it didn't work out for Rovers.

You could do alot worse. I don't know why it didn't work out for him this year. Maybe the pressure of 3-in-a-row, fans expecting to much, maybe he just had a bad year and the club wasn't suited to him, but when he was with Derry most of us on here and most people who know anything about the league rated him very highly.

Theres too much egos at that club. From what I heard theres a select group who wont train under Kenny and do their own training. He got rid of one in Turner not so long ago. But Sives, Oman and Twigg are some of the other names I have heard.

The majority of the squad are still very pro-O'Neill and were disappointed that he left and the way he left. The majority of the players just didn't accept him as a credible candidate to replace O'Neill. He had lost the dressing room by the time of the 5-1 to Pat's earlier in the season. He was bound to be sacked at some point, I am just surprised that they did it now. They should have done it earlier or waited until the end of the season.

He's still a quality manager, it just didn't work out for him at Rovers. Right man, wrong time. To think we were so close to getting him. His loyalty and the fact his family were settled in Derry made him stay that time.
