Postby niall_hearty2000 » Mon Nov 03, 2014 3:28 pm

i see roddy collins is at it again. running down the league. this guy is not a pundit he is a deluded dinosaur. you can be sure that if derry had won the fai cup yesterday that he would have tried to take credit for it. thankfully stephen o'donnell knows how to ridicule this troll.

It is the first article on that website that I have seen attract over 100 comments!

I'm not sure what that says about Roddy and why the media love him!

It is controversial and Roddy always gets a reaction. Some people are just best ignored.

A missing home in his agreement is that if you were scouting a player you wouldn't just look at him once

On the ball had an interview last night with him and had Ger O'Brien on as well. Roddy in fairness is a world champion. At self promotion.

I had a listen to him and fair play to Ger O'Brien for calling him out. I generally listen to him and Byrne on newstalk. While it's decent show sometimes you wonder about Ger Gilroy's knowledge of LOI football. Time and time again Roddy makes ridiculous statements like that we had a soft centre or when Derry played us in Op that his team had us rattled. From what I can remember Derry never left their penalty box that game nevermind their own half.

Most of what Roddy said was correct. The game was poor, the attendance was woeful and facilities in most clubs are crap. But to portray that it was an embarrassment because he took people over from Luton Biggin up a few players and the performance never happened then it's your problem mate.

John Stills take on his trip to Ireland.

Town boss John Still felt it was a worthwhile trip to Ireland at the weekend to watch the FAI Cup final.

Still was an interested onlooker as St Patrick’s triumphed 2-0 over Derry City, with the LUton chief saying: “It was a scouting trip and we looked at three players.

“One of the players did okay, although it wasn’t a good game, but that’s one of those things that can happen a lot in cup finals; they don’t live up to expectations.

“If you don’t look you don’t find though. I had a look, whether we take that on, we’ll wait and see.”

Still’s indepth scouting network is notorious at turning up players and he admitted he will continue searching high and wide for new talent.

Sounds like air comment from Stills.

The only reservation is that he cant be a odd judge of character if he is associating with Roddy

Derry City were really missing Roddy Collins Jnr. Now there is a player that may suit Luton Town.

Dont have a link to his piece in yesterdays Star but full of the usual holes in his arguments like wondering how among other 'senior' managers he isnt in a job, he should watch a video of his Derry team and sort out his confusion. He is claiming that Hoban's signing for Oxford is proof of his ascertation of LoI standards being lower than English League 2. Whether it is true or not boils down to the opinion of the individual but his litany of justifications for his pints of view just dont stack up.

They have obviously picked up on your scouting tip

By the way the Town trialist today is 20-year-old Republic of Ireland-born full-back Roddy Collins, who was once on Derry City's books.
