Euro 2016
It's the eve of the big kick off, who's everyone's tip? It's hard to look past France and probably Germany. But outside that it's hard to pick a winner. Spain aren't, for me, the team they once were but are still a threat. England have a great chance if the manager picks the right team. And as for Ireland, I'd be happy if we can get out of the group. Exciting couple of weeks ahead!!

Re: Euro 2016
you can never ever look past Germany. They are a tournament team... England haven't enough quality and a tinkerman manager. Dark horses for me are Portugal. French probably aren't good enough but they will have an entire nation driving them on..
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

I don't think Portugal are strong enough to win it, but I reckon Ronaldo for top scorer is the nap of the tournament. They have a relatively handy group and if he can score a few in the groups he could end up with 5 or 6.

Re: Euro 2016
England have no chance. Fantastic and look great going forward but in defence they are shocking. No proper centre halves and the rigours of the premier league will have them killed by the quarters. They are in a pretty tough group so may not be top as expected.
France as host nation always worth a punt.
Spain maybe probably my tip
Germany not the same as 2 years ago
Portugal one man show will fall at quarters.
Belgium full of class but I don't think they are a team.
Italy are the dark horses for me and along with favs Spain and Germany.

Re: Euro 2016
England really messed up against a poor Russian side, blame has to go on the manager. How he left Sterling on so long is a mystery. Wales have to fancy themselves to top the group now!!

Re: Euro 2016
Well the old adage that there are no easy games anymore rang true today. Quite liked the the design of the Icelandic shirt ;) Not that one point was likely to be enough to make it in to the best 3rd placed sides it is certainly cat among the pigeons today!

Iceland should me more than a match for Hungary or Austria though.
Apart from our game there's been no real great games. Maybe with 1st series of fixtures nerves and caution prrvailed.
Think Ireland can beat Belgium.

Re: Euro 2016
Watching the last few games it has really become apparent that the referees are being a lot less fussy and letting games flow a lot more, playing advantage and then calling it back if need be. Now that i've said this Ireland will probably get destroyed by refereeing decisions with a soft penalty or red card against or have a stonewall penalty denied :P

Re: Euro 2016
Strange tournament so far, no teams have been really outstanding yet. Perhaps France have been the most impressive, England have played well enough but Germany have been poor enough, Italy played well in their first game but were average enough today, albeit they got the win. Hope I don't tempt faith here but I reckon Belgium are going to be this tournaments flop team, loads expected off them but ultimately failing, fingers crossed anyway!!!

Seen an excellent tweet last week stating
If Roy Hodgson persists on picking so many Spurs players, I can see England getting to the final and finishing third!!!
