Yes I`d agree with that on Mohammad, good player but the wide areas is one we are very well covered in.

The fact that Sam Byrne was over at the Brentford B match might suggest he is close to agreeing a move, also the window for out of contact players is open until 22/02 I think (for LOI incoming)

We need two strikers though.

Out of contract players can sign anytime once they were out of contract before the transfer window closes on Feb 22nd.

100% agree with this.
Where was Chevdukas today?

We are drastically short and lacking in mf. And we desperately need a mf enforcer like McCormack or tom McNulty. We are being bosses and overrun in mf. And for me connolly and dare I say Duffy aren't good enough.

Duffy is certainly good enough. His goals and assists last year were better than any season Horgan had

Is Chevdukas not supposed to be the answer to our central midfield issues?

Apparently, a number of Dundalk players were suffering from the flu during the week, including Robbie Benson. That would explain his strangely subdued performance.

"We hope to bring in at least another two" according to Stephen Kenny after the Cork game

Should be written into a players contract that they get the vaccination. Imagine that happened before an important league game

Kenny clear as mud as to where Murray will play.
Kenny said: “He’s a really exceptional finisher. He just hits the ball with pace into corners. Ultimately he’s a striker all his life, normally in a front two.

“He’s played as a 10 for us in pre-season and a nine. He can also play as an 11 coming in on the left.

Brutal second half yesterday.
Never mind another striker, the glaring deficiency in our team is the centre of midfield. AARON MCENEFF please..
Cork managed to get McNamee and Barry out of the Brandywell by striking early within a few days of the cup final. Yet here we are still mulling over a few signings 4 days before the season starts.
We simply haven't learned the lessons from last seasons poor window.
Added to that is the thought that we had a choice between Connolly or Sadlier last summer (rumours) and somehow signed Connolly !!!!! Sadlier is an absolutely class player what an addition he would have been.
Adjoran and Chvedukas could be good signings but are none the less a big risk. Happy enough with Hoban and Murray, always thought Folan was just alright and know very little about Jarvis
but McEleney, McMillan and Vemmelund are huge losses that have weakened us greatly.
It used to be that the same eleven played every week, now its relying on the two imports settling, O'Donnell, staying fit and the likes of McGrath, Benson and Duffy producing every week, which is something that they haven't done consistently since they signed, although they've each had good spells at various times.

Signing players is Stephen Kenny's prerogative. Maybe it's time he was shown the door. It's not as if he can claim the plaudits for signing Boyle, Horgan, Hoban, and the above mentioned Vemmelund and McEleney. There were plenty of complaints last year that McEleney - for all his stunning goals - went missing in big games. Have a bit of faith.

We are very quick to fret!! The season hasnt kicked off yet!! Its not as if unheralded signings have been a complete bust in the past. Like McMillan considered an underwhelming signing albeit with fans of other clubs deriding his ability also but he turned out to be the key man.
Yes it would have been great to have all transfer business done and dusted in November and have a nicely settled pre-season but things dont always go to plan. Connolly has been disappointing so far but I think it is still a bit early to completely write him off. That O'Donnell is so injury prone is a worry but Chevdukas could the automatic starter in that role anyway. We could well be reading back on this come November saying again that the manager always has it under control. We can start panicking if we are well off the pace in May....

A dose of man flu the must have had as a real flu would have them out for 2 weeks minimum. Vaccinations are based on last years flu strain so may be of no use this flu season but better than nothing.
