Benson had zero effect on the game. Shields was OK but his passing just let's him down too often.
Subs were brought on too late. Should have been done at the hour mark.
5th clean sheet in a row is the only positive.

This, Gannon is great going forward and getting in behind their defence, he just doesn't do it when Connolly is in front of him. Our right side offeres nothing when he plays.

Connolly has the physicality of Casper the friendly ghost, sell him to the f***ing athletics club and be done with him.

Kenny did everything right for the Cork game, line up was correct, game plan was correct, subs were correct. The polar opposite happened last night. I think Kenny expected Pats to play their normal brand of football but when they sat very deep and invited us on to them we were clueless on how to break them down. When we rarely got chances we squandered them.

The decision to drop McGrath was ludicrous. He was one of our most influential players on Friday and gets no game time on Monday. He would have made a huge difference as he can pick out a pass and open up play. The subs happened far too late also.

Finally the movement was shocking.

How many throws did we have with not one person showing or anybody making runs?

How many times did the centre halves have to pump it up to Hoban as there was nobody dropping deep from midfield to collect the ball. We badly miss O'Donnell in midfield. Chvedukas showed for the ball plenty when he came on.

How many times did a centre midfield have the ball and zero movement in front of him. Ball would be humped up to Hoban or back to the centre halves who would pass it between themselves for 30 seconds and hump it up to hoban

That was one of the big disappointments - it was painfully obvious that it was not working and of all the players on the bench who were likely to change the midfield dynamic it was Chvedukas. Taking him on with less than 10 minutes left was poor decision making from the bench

Skip and Chvedukas to start in midfield asap please

If fit, I'd start both against Waterford with Adorján also. McGrath has to come back on the right side of midfield

Anyone else starting to think we might go the whole season unbeaten and still lose the the title to cork?

I'm joking obviously but we seriously need to start working out a way to break these teams down better 8 of the 10 teams in the league are going to play like this against us and, unless we get an early goal like against Limerick, it's going to be a frustrating season! We might be more successful in Europe with this style but the priority must be winning the league so we can get back in the CL for next year!

Could finish the season outside of the European places without conceding a goal

Very frustrating to watch & more so as the game went on.
Would also agree with above regarding lack of movement & in particular with throw in's. The defence looks solid with Gannon coming back to his old self but he needs help ahead of him, MC Grath was badly missed in this regard last night. Connolly stays inside to much & is leaving everything congested instead of staying wide & pulling defenders out to leave more space for Hoban.

Things didn't happen in the later third of the field, despite our better possession it was hard to see where a Dundalk goal was going to come from. After the high of Friday night, it was so flat both on the park & with supporters coming home. Waterford match is now another must win but it already looks like teams are cancelling each other out & you wonder will we be still talking like this near the season end, hopefully not.

It gets even worse as Soccer Republic have dropped us down a spot in the table as a result of last night

Soccer Republic Tweet says:
No goals in Richmond Park last night as @stpatsfc held @dundalkfc as the Lilywhites dropped to third. 0-0 in Inchicore.

I’d start Karolis ahead of Benson, he has done nothing this season. Karolis has great work rate..Not much point having an international midfielder warming the bench every week and giving him ten to fifteen minutes.

Chevdukas HAS to be in with a shout to start on Friday. Benson hasnt done enough by his standards. McGrath while I didn't think he was amazing in Friday's game, was not dropable. He did not deserve that.

In reference to the foul mouthed away supporters..... It was the same last year. They were a disgrace. Anyone tell them to shat da fack up? They did last year.
