I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting, but there is 3 full months to the league re-starting from next week. That would give ample time and more to get even remedial things done like building toilets in the ground, better lighting around the ground (not floodlights) heaven forbid the odd roof installed and a general but deep clean up.

There has to be plans to make more use of the YDC in terms of spectator facilities surely, bar, toilet and shop facilities are there...

As already mentioned Mike Traecy said they are developing the YDC into a high performance unit for the team. If that's the development it's not new news.

That's from the player development side and correct it was mentioned before by MT. It will be a fantastic addition mind.

However, ita spectator improvements that's badly needed, and there is absolutely loads of time over the next 3 months for remedial work and basic improvements that wouldn't exactly cost millions.

Will they do anything in this area ? They should but I'd doubt they will.

Mike, I just realised it was johnnybegood that posted the announcement soon. I took that as gospel that there might be something tangible that's not the YDC. Maybe there'll be some basic remedial upgrades at least. Let's hope

Absolutely. Anything to be announced that would improve the old ground for fans would almost be like winning the treble !

We shall see.

It goes to show how anxious we are to hear something, anything when the words "announcement soon" reignites a thread! Was that "announcement soon?" "announcement soon!" or "announcement soon 'roll eyes'" and the original comment being from Johnnybegood lol

In the words of Jack Nicholson , “ Here’s Johnny “, anything going on in upgrading Oriel , with a view to playing Champions League football in the town of Dundalk, instead of going out the Talla by Pass to Shamrock Rovers ground . What’s the story Peak 6.

You are that one that said 'announcement soon' so you tell us, whats the story? Because my answer to your question is No on upgrades, if there was im sure it would be posted. But we will be playing Champions League football in Dundalk as we have done for the last 4 of 5 years that we were champions, just not all games if we progress.

Thanks for that GC, I will let you know what the owners say , as I am certain every Dundalk supporter , including the manager , not to mention the away supporters would like to know what is the future for “ bloody Oriel Park “, as our manager says. Waiting in anticipation for your smart arse answer.
