I’d play Dummigan

The guy who has played both right back and Defensive Midfield including for the North’s U21s, who replaced Murray at Harps and who Perth says has been signed because he can play a number of positions, yes.

Dean Jarvis has not been ruled out yet!

He would be my first choice under the circumstances but it read like he wouldn’t make it.

We have lots of players who can play a number of positions. They are also fitter and understand our style of play better. We'll agree to disagree on that and wait and see who gets the nod. My hunch is Hoare with Cleary coming into CB

I can see Duffy being played centrally, Massey left midfield, Dummigan in his preferred position at left full, Hoare as the defensive midfirlder. A simple 442 either with Hoare tracking Hery and with Hoban and Kelly bullying Delaney. Defensively I think we can cope even with the pace of Akinade as long as Hery cant pull the strings.

Ludicrous. A certain manager was sent off twice last season including for entering the field of play and got a one match ban on both occasions.

FAI making it up as they go along, just like their refs.

Apart from the obvious that Ruaidhri Higgins seems to have done very little wrong, if you consider the outcome of the appeals in the Waterford / Cork skirmish that you refer to, it is probable that any appeal would produce a better outcome than the current 3 match ban

🗣️Vinny Perth says that Dundalk are considering an appeal against Ruaidhri Higgins' three-game touchline ban.

"The club are looking at it. We’ve looked at the incident on video and it's very clear that Ruaidhri hasn’t done a lot so we’ll see where it ends up."

While all the injuries is terrible luck, might be worth asking how McGrath, Mountney and Duffy have all gotten groin injuries outside of matches.

Vinny Perth revealed post-match that Sean Murray was struggling with an injury and did not train at all this week.

It's strange that he did not sub him off to rest him and give him the best chance of recovering for next week

Few titbits from Vinny Perth's post-match comments.
1: Patrick Hoban has been given the job of vice-captain.
2: Sean Murray did not train this week.

Had that conversation with others around me last night. Similarly for other substitutions when the game was up at 3-0

“Seán Murray, Jordan Flores and Joe McKee, these people are real quality. Daniel Kelly is really starting to show people what he's made of.

“We would have liked to introduce these players a little bit as time went on, but we’ve had to push Seán (Murray) in quicker than we necessarily felt he was ready.

“He struggled this (last) week with injury because of the workload. He’s played five matches in a very short period of time having only played one match in five months before that.”

He added: “And they’re only finding their feet in terms of what we do and how we like to play.”

Dean Jarvis the only player who could return for Dundalk for Friday's trip to Derry with Michael Duffy, John Mountney, Chris Shields, Robbie Benson and Patrick McEleney all set to remain sidelined for the trip to the Brandywell

Confirmation that Michael Duffy has a groin injury, but expected return date unknown

Any news on the nature and severity of Duffy's injury?

Groin. I asked Vinny about timescale for a return and he was unsure.

‘There’s just no way of knowing. He just needs a little bit of rest and a bit of a de-load. He doesn’t need anything other than treatment, there’s no operation needed, but there’s no defined date for it.

If we stay close to the top while all our players are recovering we’re going to be in a wonderful position in terms of options when they return. That’s the silver lining. OTOH having none of our original midfield five is a hell of a challenge.
