Ajax 2-2 away to PAOK.
Bad in that Ajax should go through and PAOK are clearly pretty handy.

Interesting to see Qarabag won 2-1 in Cyprus against APOEL, and conceded in the last minute from 2-0 up. Great result for Linfield, won 2-1 in Macedonia and looking like making the playoff round

Riga through to the playoffs!
I know that football isn't as simple as this and that we didn't beat Riga in either leg, but theres an argument that had we lost to them that we could be in the playoffs ourselves!!
We've been hearing all week about the luck of the draw and how you need a bit of luck to go our way but in this case a bit of bad luck in the 1st round may have brought us further in Europe this year!!!

Great result for Riga, HJK have a lot of European experience and were ranked ahead of Dundalk (but won't be in 2020- but that's a story for next season's Euro thread!). Riga have beaten the Polish and Finnish champions now. Copenhagen will be step too far, surely. Suuduva from Lithuania dumped Maccabi Tel-Aviv out too. I talked about the luck of the draw on another thread, but we can see with Linfield in the playoffs, along with Ararat Armenia v Dudelange and Suduva v Ferencvaros the importance of getting a good draw. Those two ties mean at least 2 teams ranked below
Dundalk will be in the groups. Dundalk 2016 and Rovers 2011 rode their luck to make the groups, let's hope for more of the same next season.

I heard the back end of Daniel mcDon talking about another euro comp from 2020 or 2021 onwards that could benefit us. Anybody know what he was talking about and will it really make it it easier for us to progress in Europe??

It’s a great piece, and a better analysis than anything else said in the aftermath of last Tuesday.

3-2. They rode their luck all night. No way will they win over there, but at least they won at home which is a lot more than we did.

Finished 3/2 Linfield think conceding that late goal will end up costing them, Bratislava also left it late winning 1/0 against Paok, and Riga were unfortunate to concede in third minute of injury time to lose 3/1 against Fc Copenhagen..

Yes you would imagine qarabag should see it out now.. and win the home leg.
