I remember him in the friendly. Lots of energy and reasonable amount of skill, very keen to impress. He was substituted after the full back got fed up and cut him down. He was down for a good while and could barely limp off. At the time the club said it was nothing major, but he appears to have had a lot of problems with his knees over the years.Carrick_Road wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 1:55 pm Joshua Gatt confirmed pending International Clearance.

On the other hand, so did Mick Fairclough and Paul McGrath. (I'll just leave that there for someone to nibble at)

Best of luck to Josh Gatt, but it's a signing that is difficult to understand.
If his main position is on the wing, where does he fit in the squad competing with Michael Duffy, Daniel Kelly, John Mountney, Stefan Colovic, Nathan Oduwa and Lido Lotefa?

Get a grip El Paso , we are trying to win a League. You should delete that post & write something positive . Like isn’t it great to see Alan Reynolds coming to the club & making a good signing & with a view to Europe as well , that’s what Peak 6 are about.

Think we will see the Gatt signing is one of two things....
1. A player willing to play on a trial basis to the end of the season/without demanding much money in return for a chance to prove himself
2. The club have seen something in him to make him attractive. That can be...he offers something other players dont, he brings marketing prospects with him, he exposes the club to other potential American players.....I am sure there is a method in their madness.

There is little doubt that Josh Gatt is not in a great negotiating position because of his injury history, but I very much doubt that he is coming to Ireland to play without any salary.Pepsi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 6:41 pm Think we will see the Gatt signing is one of two things....

Attracting American players to use Dundalk as a stepping stone to something bigger is an interesting prospect, but a player with his history who will be 29 years next birthday is unlikely to be that trailblazer
It would be brilliant if he can establish himself and make an impact at Dundalk. I wish him well

Jack Chambers ex Linfield who has recently been released by West Brom is linked with Dundalk -- apart from being from Banbridge and being regarded as a super player for Under 19 Northern Ireland international, I don't know much about him --- a friend of a friend told me!

Hope he gets a few games in the upcoming friendlies. Potential is definately there, if only he wasnt up against the best in the LOI in his position.

Would you not keep Gannon? I know hes not in the best of form at the minute, but Rovers, Bohs and most other teams would pinch him in the morning of they could and hes definitely one that would come back and haunt us. I'd also keep Oduwa, theres definitely a player there. Other than that I agree with you!!El Paso wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 8:09 pm Players in bold are out of contract / end of loan period I think, will correct if someone knows better. I'm not sure who I'd try to keep right now. Hoare and Duffy might be the height of it. Massey as back up because I think he's a good club man, but maybe that's me being sentimental.
1) Gary Rogers
2) Sean Gannon
3) Brian Gartland
4) Sean Hoare
5) Chris Shields
6) Jordan Flores
7) Michael Duffy
8) John Mountney
9) Patrick Hoban
10) Greg Sloggett
11) Patrick McEleney
12) Georgie Kelly
14) Dane Massey
16) Sean Murray
17) Nathan Oduwa
18) Will Patching
20) Aaron McCarey
21) Daniel Cleary
22) Stefan Colovic
23) Cameron Dummigan
27) Daniel Kelly
28) Lido Lotefa
29) David McMillan
44) Andy Boyle
45) Josh Gatt
At the moment that leaves a team of:
GK
RB-Cleary-Boyle-Leahy
Shields-Sloggett
Colovic-McEleney-Patching
Hoban

Re: 2019 & 2020 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
Listening to Giller post match speaking to Gerry.....he seems confident that a new man will be in place soon. Could it be a case that they have been planning it for a while in the background and the difference of opinion was that Vinny wanted players signed up and Peak6 were putting it on the long finger?? Owners maybe have a new man who knows who he is taking in and who he wants to keep.......

Considering he was crocked round about the time of Oldham, it's more pat I think. Although I think Norton would be a notch down from our previous s&c coach
