It's a difficult one for FG to pick a team for Monday night, but there is likely to lots of changes from the Bohs line-up

It would be brilliant if we could get 3 points, but I would not turn down a point at this stage

If the league is not closed down in the meantime, the Euro places are going to be determined by our results against our 3 main challenges - Waterford (a) St Pats (h) & Sligo Rovers (h) more so than what happens on Monday night

We have a small cushion, but a point or three against Derry would be a fantastic Euro bonus.

What team would you select?

I'd go with similar from tonight. Happy with dummigan these days. Give him another game and maybe bring leahy in, switch Gannon. Start Boyle. I'd leave the rest as is?

Not a chance he will play a team close to tonight’s team with such an important game Thursday, something like the Finn Harps game selection wise , which he would be right to do.

If that's the case, we may not come away with even a point if he starts with that team

Two seasons ago Stephen Kenny played ten of the first 11 days before the trip to Larnaca. And we got thrashed out there. A few weeks ago Filippo played one of the first 11 from Sheriff against Rovers and we got thrashed.

Surely there’s a happy medium that allows us to compete?

My team for Derry assuming all are fit

McCarney
Hoare Boyle Gartland Leahy
Sloggett Murray Flores
Mountney McMillan Oduwa

With Hoban, Shields, Fats and Duffy on the bench

I’m not disagreeing with ye lads it’s just a hard call , I guess am just going on the previous selection after Europe.. it would be great to get a good start in Europe even a draw is more than we would get for winning the league.. I guess selection might have some bearing on the result with Waterford and Cork today.

If Filippo had taken the Finn Harps game seriously, he’d have more room for manoeuvre now. But he didn’t, so taking another big risk like that on Monday would be dumb. Our lads have played very little football. The majority should be able to manage just fine. It’s not like we have to travel.

Without treating games like Monday night with the importance it deserves, we won't have nights like Thursday to worry about next season.

With a Waterford draw, an opportunity to put pressure on third with a win in Derry. Needs to be as strong as possible while striking a balance for Thursday night. I'm glad my mind is distracted. I have refused to follow any news all day.

He's going to make changes. Just not wholesale changes

Amazing series of results which may well reflect on team selection for Derry on Monday

If the top four qualify for Europe (likely but not certain!) then it may well be a three horse race for last two places (25 points each is now that maximum for both Shels & Sligo) with Waterford (21 points from 16 matches) and St Pats (19 points from 14 matches) the threats to us (22 points from 14 matches)

While all matches are important beating Waterford is the key.

While it is counter intuitive to many, I would not select any of the intended starters for Molde on Monday evening - on-the-bench yes coming on at 60 minutes if needed

Just out of curiosity, why do people think that bringing your better players on with 30 minutes left is a good strategy if you're chasing a game? I mean we have two very recent examples that show that it doesn't work!
