Must say it was really great being able to watch international matches on Sky Sports with our players involved. Never thought I’d be so interested in a Latvia or Faroes game!

Stuey Byrne says if we lose tonight we risk everything falling apart:

Stuey obviously afraid of change too.

Someone name a player we have that you believe is better suited and performs better playing in a 3 centre back, 2 wing back, 2 defensive midfielders system than in a normal back four, one holding midfielder set up such as 4-3-3 / 4-1-4-1.

Re: 2021 season General thread
I'm not suggesting that he is performing better in this current setup, but Micheal Duffy seems to me to be the only one that isnt affected by it.
Our centre halfs hadn't played in a back 3 until FG came in and seem to he struggling with it. Chris Shields was a lone defensive midfielder for years and now suddenly has another one beside him, and it looks to me like he is being asked to push further up the pitch.
I could go on, but Duffy is still playing on that left wing and still playing at the level he always has.

Press box podcast:
Gav working in a room with no WiFi up in the YDC. WiFi usually helpful for media officers.
The arrangement with Quay is temporary and may not continue when their teams return to train/play. Other local teams have refused requests from Dundalk to use their facilities.
Blown away by the next level that P6 have brought the club to.

Fair play to the Quay for helping out.dundalkfc1903 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 1:02 pm

I can remember a time when the Dundalk Schoolboys League Emerging Talent Programme was given a whole night to themselves in Oriel Park. If Dundalk had a fixture that night, somebody else had to give up their night to the DSL. You would even find the odd u13 back fixture being played under lights while the girls & ladies teams were training in Hiney Park in the dark.
These chickens will all come home to roost when things return to normal. All the grass pitches will be unplayable some weekend and a club will want Oriel Park for a Cup tie, in order to avoid giving away home advantage to a team from Kerry or Galway.

We've already lost enough community spirit without resorting to childish antics like that.oldfogey wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 3:02 pmFair play to the Quay for helping out.dundalkfc1903 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 1:02 pm

Club have just released a new app.
First impressions it looks the part. Very professional and another big step forward. If only other parts of the club were working as well as the media part.

Well the message was through Patreon so it might be an app for Patreon subscribers? I didn’t know you could do that on iTunes.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 3:35 pmPatreon or in general? How do you get it? I assume from Google play store etc

Re: 2021 season General thread
While not defending the setup it's not quite what was said. James didn't say it may not continue he answered a question with a question by asking "will it continue when Quay's teams are back?" so basically he has no idea. There could be an agreement until lockdown is lifted or there could be an agreement to the end of the season, we are none the wiser. Also he said one local team rebuffed the clubs not several.dundalkfc1903 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 1:02 pm Press box podcast:

It probably is a mobile app version of the website but looks great regardless.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 5:02 pm Yeah downloaded it really just looks like an app version of the website.. But fair play to all involved.
Would be great to get some user interaction on the app when back at games. Man of the match, vote on half time music, match day competitions etc. Would also be interesting if it could be integrated with the bar for ordering drinks for half time or after the game.
Only negative would be when I hit the back button on Android, it takes me out it the app altogether rather than the previous page
