Finn Harps v Dundalk | League Round 17 | Mon 23 May 2022 ko 20.00
No doubt O'Donnell will have been targeting 7+ points from the 3 games. Toughest 3 - arguably - already in the bag. I didn't get home until after Kelly was subbed so I hope it was tactical. Hopefully no injury worries, especially at the back. Yellow cards are a definite worry though.

So, Andy Boyle available again after serving two game ban. I have to say, I'm in favour of leaving the defense as is, they looked very good on Friday. In fact the team/squad in general has a good shape to it. The call for Doyle or Adams may well come down to how the manager analyses the opposition, and what's most favourable for us. John Martin may not be fit for more than 20 mins, but he sure makes one hell of an impact sub.

I'd be curious to know why Connolly is dropped for tonight, must be fatigue or a niggle because he's been one of our best players in the last few weeks.
Decent enough starting XI with Martin getting his chance.

Great night on the league table.
Derry beaten, Rovers beaten.
Game in hand still on both teams.

Rovers beaten and - dare I say - in a measure of bother. Game held up after Rovers fans started firing missiles onto the pitch. Ref played 10 additional minutes. After the ineptitude of the stewards when we were there, lets hope there is no pitch invasion.

Hard fought win tonight. Probably should have won by more which made for a nervy finish. If we can beat Pats now we will open some daylight from the chasing pack. Europe still the aim for me

What's more in intriguing is that Rovers, Derry and Pats haven't even played in europe yet and we've already closed the gap...

Good 3 points, we have Shepard to thank for them, another solid performance. Not our best team performance, however job done .... still plenty of twists and turns ahead this season. Mad to think I was watching the game last Friday night from an Indian airport and the game this evening from a Miami office block. Even though LOITV is muck ... i seem to keep paying for it.

The pull back by Wardy for the goal was sublime.

The goal was 'scrappy' according to League of Ireland Twitter account.
I thought it was a well worked goal!

grinding that our was really impressive. something we would have struggled to do this time last year with a massive wage bill
our league position is superb , the table is weird but it doesn't lie
confidence growing , and we're a point or 2 off 2nd . happy days

Great two away wins. Hopefully there’ll be a big crowd in Oriel on Friday night.
Was SOD on the bench tonight ? Will he be on the bench against Pats?
I’d be worried losing the likes of Connolly, Macari and Bradley and having to start bedding 4/5 players in again from July onwards .
FWIW I did hear they money will be made available to push for Europe. Really hope we can do a deal with Connolly

I stand to be corrected, but I believe that non-playing staff dismissals do not lead to automatic "next game" suspensions. The disciplinary committee meets this week to review last weekend's referees reports. Suspensions issued will be effective from next Monday. A one game ban - if at all - would put him out for Sligo(A) on 11 June. Hopefully that's all, as subsequent games are Rovers(H) and Shelbourne(A).Martin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 11:26 pm Great two away wins.
