Dundalk v UCD | League Round 22 | Fri 01 July 2022 ko 19.45
Whether or not you believe that we should be challenging for the title, we definitely should be picking up 3 points, and keeping a clean sheet this coming Friday.
I have no doubt the management team will come up with a new system for putting the ball in the back of the net. The last thing we need is UCD copying Shelbourne's system for keeping us scoreless.

UCD are now without Colm Whelan and Liam Kerrigan who has signed for a team in Serie B. Have to be winning this one.

If Pats take something from Rovers tonight it will even the playing field a bit and we can focus on closing the gap against UCD.
I wouldn't expect much from Pats, they've been pretty uninspiring under Clancy, morale seems to be low and the fans are already turning on him.

Does this Italian interest have anything to do with Brexit?

Yeah it would in some of the players who moved like Kevin Zefi and James Abankwah, though Kerrigan is 22. He would have played against Italy recently for the u21s.
But Brexit has put more focus on the league. Players playing first team like Sam Curtis will get more attention, linked with Feyenoord. Might be good for the Irish team down the line if the players are learning different styles of play, instead of just going to England

I see Marc Bircham has been appointed as new manager of Como. The club Liam Kerrigan joined. Kerrigan may bring earplugs.

We are drifting off topic.
Referee for tomorrow's game is Rob Harvey.
As referenced earlier, both Andy Meyler and Willie O'Connor start 3 match touchline bans tomorrow. Looks like James Claffey, Ger Barron(GK), and Maria Monahan(S&C) will be the Brains Trust.

Plenty of possession no penetration. Need to win this with pats and Derry both winning now.

That first half is exactly why we are not and will not be title contenders any time soon. We are still very much a work in progress, missing something potent in front of goal.

Night and day between the two halves, thought we were good overall, Sloggett was everywhere. 3 points + clean sheet. Happy days.

In many ways the first half laid the foundations for the second. UCD had to work really hard to cover space, and they visibly tired from about 60 minutes. From then on space opened up. It is a 90 minute game.
