Treble hopefully starts here. Ideal Starting 11 if the two lads could be fit to start:

McCarey
Dummigan-Folan-Cleary-Jarvis
Shields-McKee
Mountney-McEleney-Flores
Kelly

Strong team

But I see no point in playing any of those who started against Cork, so perhaps Dummigan to centre half and Aaron McNally at right back

Also Dylan Hand and Lido Lotefa can play if either Shields or McEleney are not ready

Team news

Dundalk will be without the services of long term absentees Robbie Benson (broken leg) and Patrick McEleney (broken foot) although the latter has resumed running. Chris Shields has also resumed running after his knee problem but tomorrow has come to soon for him. John Mountney made his return from a groin problem on Friday evening against Cork City with Michael Duffy and Sean Murray playing from the start after knocks. There are a number of niggles after Friday and players won’t be risked with the games ahead. A number of U19’s will come into the squad giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Rob Harvey is the ref so baffling decisions are likely - hopefully no match-defining ones go against us

Isn't Ruaidhri Higgins still suspended?

Any truth in the suggestions that Jim McLoughlin or Turlough O'Connor will debutise as SK's assistant?

Surely that's not allowed - or am I falling for an April Fools joke?

Good performances from Georgie Kelly, Jordan Flores, John Mountney and all the back four tonight. Aaron McCarey moved further away from challenging Gary Rogers with an unconvincing performance

In the stand with the large contingent of Dundalk players. Presumably injured as Gartland was on the bench as an unused sub

Great result with a barely second string against a fairly strong looking Pats side. Only 3 wins away from another trophy, but I expect the experimental line-ups will continue in this competition.

QF lineup

Bray Wanderers
Bohemians
Cork City
Derry City or Longford
Dundalk
Finn Harps
Shelbourne or UCD
Waterford

Not sure if I'd prefer a Premier Division side with a weak squad or a First Division side who are likely to go all out. Definitely want a home draw in order to promote the new strip and raise some funds for Temple Street. Ties set for Monday 27th May, another block of 5 games in 15 days..

Fri 17th May Cork City(A)
Mon 20th May Bohemians(H)
Fri 24th May St Patricks Ath.(H)
Mon 27th May EA Sports Cup QF
Fri 31st May Sligo Rovers(H)

St Pats goal from last night. Credited to James Doona, but it takes a big defection off Dylan Hand. In real time, it looked like a goalkeeping error -but no so obvious now realising that Dylan Hand was so close to goal.
