Considering the club were worried about season ticket sales falling after Kenny left that’s a brilliant start.

Average is 3,299 for Friday night games and 2,499 for Monday night games. Exactly 800 in the difference, and, to use oldfogey's average of €11 per person a reduction in gates of €26,400 for the season to date.

Only one more scheduled Monday night home game, but the Cork game could also get moved, depending on Europe.

Mon 01/07 v Waterford
Fri 19/07 v Cork City

Looks like the UCD game on 14th June will fall as well, due to Toulon tournament callups. As it's on the eve of the mid-season break it leaves a big gap between Finn Harps(A) on Sat 8th and Rovers(A) on Fri 28th.

Worse still, no home game between Sligo on Friday week and Waterford on Mon 1st July. The next Friday game - and only other home league fixture in July - is Cork (H) on the 19th. That's the week of CLR1L2. That is likely to go as well, depending on where we are playing the first leg the following week. (CLR2 or ELQR2).

Just to confuse matters, one of the CLR1 losers will get a bye straight into ELQR3 just like Cork last year. Something to do with the Brits hogging this season's Champions League final(tic).

Two poor attendances in a row. Seems odd given the run we’ve been on when we’ve no home game now for a month and nothing else on tonight.

Vantastival is in. Would that take some of the younger heads away?

Attendances is woeful for such a good team and some fans are very fickle just going to watch the “big” games , and using poor facilities is just an excuse for not going, am sure the owners are thinking why improve facilities when the team isn’t been backed properly... improving facilities won’t get another two thousand people through the gates which is what peak 6 would want to pay for there investment... If I were them I wouldn’t be to keen to invest either on facilities when so called fans aren’t doing there bit either

Facilities do have an impact on attendance, particularly when weather is poor.I am aware of a number of people who may not attend if it’s raining including myself. It also has an impact on families attending and away supporters .I certainly would not be bothered to travel to an away game to be facilitated in an area like Oriel Park.
We don’t need expensive state of the art improvements .Basic terraces with a shelter using social employment schemes to construct .Toilets that are clean especially for females ,concrete paths to walk on without getting muddy would go a long way to help.

Didn’t think of Vantastival, could be some of it. Same happened last year. 1800 at the Bray game I think. Volume of games is part of it.

As to Paul’s point Oriel can only take 3,000 ish comfortably. Any more than that you’re talking about people with restricted views or standing out in the open on a grassy mound. But we really should be getting 3,000 every Friday night match.

I don’t understand how in 3 weeks we lost the guts of 1k people, a third of our gate for the past two Fridays. We are top of the league playing good football and the draw of Pats or Sligo is as big as Derry. What are people doing instead on a Friday night? Particularly in light of no home game for a month. Is it exams, is there junior football or Gaelic on? Are people gone on hols or away for the weekend, or a combination of all above? Does not feel fair on the team or the owners who have invested in the team and team facilities. And Yes I know the owners need to tell is the long term vision for the ground. But it’s not facilities that are keeping people away in the space of three weeks. Sorry for the rant but I would sincerely like to them why 1k fewer have gone in 3 weeks

Club releasing some half season tickets is good to see.

Anyone know if these can be used along with season tickets for early access to european tickets?

Anybody know the answer to this? Would be a good selling point after the European ticket troubles of last season.
