Dundalk V St Patricks Ath | Fri 25 Oct | 7.45pm | Oriel Park | Matchday 36

Successive league defeats may place a little extra pressure on the squad for the final league match.

Presumably VP will look to start his cup final team (or as near as possible) and gain some momentum ahead of the cup final.Depending on results in mid week there is a possibility that St Pats will be looking for a win to give them a small chance of landing the final european place

There's also the small matter of picking up the league trophy.

I’m talking about the last 3 or 4 weeks . Like build it up. It’s bigger than the Cup Final.

Johnny with respect what are you talking about? Nobody needed to know this was confirmed? When else did you think this was gonna happen? It's been the same every single year as it is in probably every other league in the world.
As for the match think we'll put on a show against a poor enough Pat's team I'll go 3-0/4-0.

Seeing as it’s on the box and neither team is likely to have anything other than lads playing for contracts on the line, I hope both teams put on a show.

Was going to ask if O’Donnell should get a presentation too, given he never got a proper send off either as a player or from the backroom, but reading the interviews it sounds like he wouldn’t want one.

I think Johnny's got a point, in fairness. Yes the regulars will be able to work it out for themselves, but it's a sign of complacency that we're leaving it to people to work it out for themselves. We should be shouting it from the rooftops and getting every impressionable schoolkid in the town up to Oriel for the presentation.

O'Donnell is a hero and legend- he's also the away team manager. I love the chap but he no more deserves a special presentation than Ronan Finn next time he's in town.

True, but the difference being O'Donnell played a large part in this seasons success and will probably get a medal for it. Next season will be different/

O’Donnell returning and Finn returning are indeed the same, apart from O’Donnell was here three times longer, won more, was our captain, retired as a player here, was on our management team until a few weeks ago, and became Pats manager with our blessing. But otherwise the same.

If he was Shamrock Rovers boss I’d have agreed with every word!

That’s my point Punkha. It’s an opportunity for all to witness the presentation . You can never get complacent about an event like this. It’s history & not a matter of walking up to Oriel & “ here we go again “ . It is a huge accomplishment by the squad & Vinny , John G, & Ruairdhi.

Looks like Pats have something to play for Friday after all, that's a very impressive win over Derry. You'd imagine Derry won't arse it up at home to Finn Harps, but they're likely to start at a whirlwind pace looking for the win. Could make for a decent show and a good workout ahead of the cup final.

Everyone is available for selection to Vinny Perth and we have had a good week ahead of the match.

Website Team News missed Patrick Hobans one match suspension recently and seem to have done similarly uninformed about Sean Hoare.

The mole of Oriel Park lets the cat out of the bag again. Maybe a 2 month suspension looming?

Sean Hoare is the only absentee for Dundalk tomorrow night as he serves a one match ban for the St Pat's game.
