We've had a lot of moaning about this up til now, so fair play to the club for getting this sorted well before Christmas, and good to see the prices retained. Now, if we could just make the ground habitable we'd be flying!

James Rogers
@jamesdundalk
Dundalk head coach Vinny Perth expects to have the same backroom team alongside him in 2020.

Asked about it on Saturday, he said: "I’ve always said if you’re a league winning team, you need league winning staff and we have that so I don’t envisage any real change."

Wonder what prompted that? Are there rumours about Higgins getting a management gig again?

I believe John Gill was on a one year contract - or until Vinnie qualifies anyway.

Valentines day kick off
The new SSE Airtiricty League season is set to start on Friday 14 February, with a mid-season break during Euro 2020 and a round to accommodate European games.

There is also a plan for games scheduled for Friday 10 July, which will involve four sides in Europe, to be brought forward to Friday 22 May.

Four midweek rounds are in the offing and the break will run from 13 June to 25 June.

It means that league games are unlikely to clash with any Euro 2020 games given the round of matches in July have been moved to May.

There be 21 of the 36 games played before the break.

The First Division will begin on 21 February and is set to have an extended play-off.

Fifth place will play second place and third meet fourth in a two-legged play-off.

The winners will clash over two legs again and meet the ninth place Premier Division in two more matches.

It remains unclear if Limerick will be replaced by Shamrock Rovers B.

The Premier Division concludes on Friday 23 October with the FAI Cup final on Sunday 1 November.

Same old, same old, complete with the FAI Cup being allowed to take precendence over the league and totally fukk up the second half of the season. Especially for any club unlucky enough to go out early.

The Euros doesn't help and seems to be the cause of an extended break. 13 June is a Saturday so presumably we'll have matches on the Friday 12th (clashing with Euro opener Italy v Turkey), then one and a half weeks off and back for Friday 26th. The Dublin group games are on 15, 19 and 24 June, those are the dates Ireland will be playing if we qualify.

Is that the four sides involved in Europe play each other or that we shaft the other teams by playing early? If so same old
