Injury & Suspension Watch 2020

Post by Ezeikial » Sat Jan 18, 2020 10:07 am

James Rogers
@jamesdundalk
Initial word from Oriel is that knocks picked up by McEleney and Murray are minor and their withdrawals more precautionary than anything.

Aaron McCarey unavailable tonight but due to link up with the squad in Spain next week

Hopefully this thread remains fairly empty this season. We could do with a change of fortunes.

No sign of Sean Murray or Patrick McEleney among the 20 players who lined out against Cluj.

Will Patching obviously now also in sick bay.

Hopefully none of them are out for long..........

Any updates would be very welcome

With Patrick McEleney, Sean Murray and Greg Sloggett all playing against CSKA today, it seems Will Patching is the only one currently injured

DFC updates appreciated
Dundalk FC
@DundalkFC
Will Patching picked up an injury in the game with Cluj but is expected to return in the next fortnight.

#DundalkFC manager Vinny Perth: "We've had him x-rayed but it's nothing serious. It'll keep him out of contact training for somewhere between seven and 14 days."

Vinny Perth: “Sean and Patrick didn’t play against Cluj because we were protecting them but they’re fit and available. Other than Will, everybody is fit. We have a few sore bodies because we are doing two sessions a day and the workload is high but everybody is raring to go."

Wonder what the deal is with McCarey, thought I read somewhere he was to link up with the squad in Spain. Didn’t see him in any of the social media posts online

VP confirms that Jordan Flores is ok after the knock he got against Crusaders

He must be in serious contention for a starting place on Sunday

Great news if true. If we could keep him injury free he could be a quality signing. A serious amount of potential in this squad whether we fulfil that potential is another thing

James Rogers
@jamesdundalk
Patrick McEleney and Georgie Kelly missed out tonight with slight niggles to their Achilles and back respectively but both are expected to be back in contention for the trip to Tolka Park to face Shelbourne next week
https://twitter.com/jamesdundalk/status ... 7611887616

Sean Murray and John Mountney also in sick bay.
Presumably Murray likely to be available next week if his was "a slight knock"
How long likely for Mountney

Anybody else on the injury list?

Gannon’s leg was pretty heavily strapped last night and he limped badly after a challenge. Was a bit worrying.
