Very positive and progressive move. It also shows a lot of self confidence from VP to facilitate it

A very strong appointment. Unbelievable first year with Waterford and players and staff clearly demoralised the year after the debacle that Delaney and power created down there. He could be first team coach/manager himself. Great contingency planning if Vinny was ever to move on but also great experience to bolster Vinny as the backroom team.

Brave appointment by Perth. Potentially has appointed his successor. I suspect that's what Reynolds has in mind. Has already spoken about them being rivals.

When?

Of course they were rival managers while he was at Waterford - you seem to be suggesting that he has said this since he was appointed at Dundalk!

He is hardly suggesting that there is a current rivalry - they played together at Longford. They have played against each other over the years with different teams, while he was a coach at Cork City when they won the cup in 2016 before his more recent managerial spell at Waterford

Another link to Stephen Kenny and though regarded as a lunatic/headcase, Reynolds has a great reputation for bringing the best out of players.

Alan's a very highly rated coach, so hopefully a good move. Both he and Perth have fiery enough personalities so it seems a little odd, but it could be a great success.

"Jobs for the boys". You wonder how some of these people get to be journos. Maybe in the FAI or Dail Eireann where you appoint your missus as your PA. Anyone who knows anything about LoI would know that you need the person who you think is best for the job - especially at the sharp end where the stakes are so high.

Weird article. Put it down to football journos having nothing to write about.
