Normally you'd have to have sympathy for the situation Vinny is in because it's some mess but then again he's the one telling us everything is great behind the scenes and there's loads of good news to come and how tremendous the owners are. So if all that's true then a manager who gets 4 points from 8 matches with all that amazing backing deserves the door pronto.

Of course it isn't true and he should realise he's damn lucky people understand that instead of coming out and bullshitting us every week.

I agree Bob. I was glad when we got rid of Vinny last year, but I gave him credit when he galvanised us on his return. However he has completely let himself down and proven himself as nothing more than a yes man in the last few weeks. People have accused James Rogers and Dan Mc Donnell of having an anti Vinny bias, but I have heard from a few different sources that he is and was not popular with players and staff.

I think even though I expect us to survive the drop by the skin of our teeth; that whoever is running things next year needs to look elsewhere for our next manager

He knew the keeper thing was a disaster waiting to happen and tried to raise it and he thinks all the injuries can be blamed on the whole medical department leaving.

Also heard Aaron Lawless Stadium project manager has left? Wasn't he supposed to have put the new stadium working group together?

Filippo was a decent fella, but he is to blame for overlooking Talbot. He went ahead with the idea Abibi was a hidden gem playing in the lower leagues in Italy. Sonni Nattestad was signed by Filippo, along with Ole Midstogen and Jurkovskis.

He overlooked players in the league ,or maybe wasn't aware of them, but was a poor mistake.

I think we can take it as fact at this stage that none of the people involved on our side of the table had a scooby doo what they were doing in the last couple of transfer windows.

Also going by what Bill said in his recent interviews I think he was lying through his teeth when he said in the earlier Press Box interview that Jim Magilton was actively involved in recruiting the mess of a squad we started the season with. Jim Magilton no more brought Han, Zahibo, Junior, Chino, Terique and all the rest to the club than I did.

Bit of an understatement there Richie!! Nice guy and we won a cup and got to Europe under him, but he caused carnage with regards to recruitment . Bill would argue that he was the manager and so should be allowed to pick players but FG was a novice in the LOI ,bringing in foreign players and then not being able to stand on the sideline . It was never going to work.

Pleasantly surprised by that segment on Offtheball. My friend Dan wasn’t as toxic as I had expected ( apart from the ‘asylum’ jibe which was a bit of a 2 footed lunge imo ). Shane Keegan was quite measured as well and was supportive of Vinny. I take his point re the medical department but is it not a fact that Garts, Fats, Cleary , Zahibo and Dickie got impact injuries that have nothing to do with physios?

I’m also glad that Dan has taken up my suggestion and finally started to highlight the referees in this league! Maybe he could also replace one of his weekly Dundalk diatribes with one about their shocking decisions each week!!

I watched the Sligo V Shamrock Rovers game last night. Barry Cotter was impressive , comfortable off either foot, solid attacking and defending, good crosser.
Dundalk were suppose to have been close to signing him as a free agent, but missed out.

2 goals for Junior tonight. His second a really good finish, he is a decent player, fitting in better to a team playing with confidence.

Edit was actually Akintunde who scored

Georgie Kelly on fire again

I see the model club posted €1.8m in losses for 2020 - time for another cash injection to keep it afloat!

Sure didnt Dermot (the man who has nothing to say, only puts money in and appoints CEOs) do his best with €660K for Scales and arent they getting a great deal of City every time Bazuna puts on the Irish jearsey. Shouldnt be making them losses ... not with the investment they seen and fees they have generated.

A few interesting snippets from the Irish Times article on Rovers:
SSE Airtricity League leader Shamrock Rovers swung into the red in its latest financial year, recording a loss after tax of almost €1.8 million, down from a profit of more than €627,000 the year before.
The latest accounts show the directors agreed to write down a €800,000 intercompany loan due from its academy during the year.
The club’s board forecast that it has sufficient cash funding to meet its debts for the next 12 months, and said it was “confident” shareholders will continue to support it. It also noted “key shareholders” confirmed they will not seek repayment of loans for the next 12 months.

Havent seen him mention Rovers' losses and whether or not they have broken the SCP?

I'll wait on the 12 episodes of Off the Ball completely dedicated to dissecting the financial mess they are in.

Is any club not going to announce a significant loss for 2020? Except us possibly!

“You broke SCP” the year all the fans were banned from the grounds is not going to be a thing.

Luckily we’re well positioned to take advantage of Rovers being broke with an old squad.
