Hopefully the first of many wins , for Stephen Kenny as Ireland manager. Also congrats to Daryl Horgan , brilliant cross for 3rd. goal & getting on the scoresheet with a rare header . He usually scored from outside the box , for Dundalk , well done to Jamie Mc Grath , on gaining his first international cap ( only the 2nd. Meath man ) , he is by all accounts a huge player for St. Mirren , with a lot of interest from other clubs. It’s interesting that ex League of Ireland players are making an impact .

Very nice to see Daryl and Jamie in the national team, both made in Dundalk.
Wouldnt mind if they sacked Stephan in the morning ..... being greedy, he might be the answer to all our management problems. Could we tempt him to make the drive in from the rock on a daily basis??

It ends the winless run. Parrot should get confidence with the 2 goals. It was looking very embarrassing when they went ahead, but got the 4 goals as they tired.

Hungary next, they have a really tough group in the Euros, Germany, France and Portugal, so will be looking to put in a good performance v Ireland.

Delighted for Stephen getting his first win with the national team, also pleased for Horgan and McGrath. Happy memories from a great era. He still has a massive job ahead with the limitations of the players available to him. He will not be carried away, as he said himself, you have to be measured in victory and defeat and he will also know that they went behind to a Duty Free Shop in the Pyrenees before coming back to win. But a win is a win and now it begins. It will lift confidence for the next game. Because of their tough Euro group, Hungary will probably play their starting team against us and will be thinking of getting a good confidence building win so it will be a good test for Stephen and the lads. C'mon Ireland.

Ireland have a couple of very good keepers coming through in Bazuna and Kelleher. Both were really good in the 45 minutes each. Lack a bit of spark in midfield, maybe Jack Byrne when he's fit again can provide that.
Ogbene showed well in his brief cameo.

A good few players in the Squad probaly looking at moves in the Summer. Daryl Horgan and Ogbene will probaly need to move on as they will be playing League 1 next season.

Both those keepers along with Travers will need regular game time next season , the makings of a decent team are there but still lacking quality and experience in the final third and could badly do with a creative midfielder.
