Longford had a few chances , not just the 2 soft goals. Cherrie made a great at the start of the second half. They deserved something from the game.

Dundalk with all the resources are really under performing. They need a good appointment as the manager.
We need a manager with a size 12+ steel capped boot to give a few players a good kick up the hole, someone who will be given time to rebuild in key positions. The question is how long will Peak6 look on ........ players need to realise if they dont start performing, they will be getting no new big contracts next season, Rovers cant sign everyone and they will not be going to England to earn money, most have and failed.
Yes Longford are limited but plenty of passion in their players. It's ok having ability, but you have to battle also.

Dundalk are trying to gel a team with players from many countries, and looking to bring in a new manager.
Shamrock Rovers Squad is all Irish I think? They all know the League. That's not to say there is anything wrong with signing outside players, but Towell arriving in July might hit the ground the running, as he has played in the League before.
The pitch is the same colour of green, and same dimensions irrespective of if you play in Ireland, America, Uk, Latvia, Faroe Islands Central African Republic or South Korea. So this Shamrock Rvs squad being all Irish is a crock of bull in the nicest possible way. Btw they aren't. Mannus is Canadian born and Lopez plays for Cape Verde Islands. If you are good enough and being coached correctly it will come to the fore. The problem is we weren't being coached correctly. And also our defence is leaking goals. We have shipped 11 points i think it is now, due to unforced goalkeeping errors. 11. If we had those points onboard we would be 2nd in the table 2 points behind rovers, whilst playing poorly. And to think people complained if Rogers made 1 mistake all season. Equally both our first choice strikers are currently out injured and our best defender over the past few seasons Brian Gartland is gone for the season. There are no leaders on the pitch, nobody ripping the other players out of it, nobody taking them and the game by the scruff of the neck and driving us forward. Absolutely no leadership. Also players are there cos of former glories. Realistically how many of the current squad would start on the rovers starting 11? How many do we really want to keep next season? Most expensive side ever assembled in loi history. Certainly not playing like it, and definitely not being coached like it.
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

Lopez was born and raised in Ireland. His father is from Cape Verde so Lopez qualifies
But I'd imagine Lopez has more of a connection to Ireland. Mannus only lived in Canada until he was 7

A lot of these players are on 1 year deals. Zahibo, Jurkovskis could move on at end of season ,or have talks with other clubs in July.
I think Zahibo only moved to Dundalk to put himself back in the shop window in European football ,through playing in Europe with Dundalk. The wages at Dundalk would gave helped also.
