A couple of Irish players at Celtic are free agents in the summer. Luca Connell and Jonathan Afolabi. They have been playing down in the lower league in Scotland, were good underage prospects with Ireland.

I would imagine that there will be zero information from the club about potential signings intil any deal is done, and I would urge everyone to resist the tempation to be "first with the news". I expect Rovers and Derry to try and sign up every half decent player with 2 legs just to keep them away from everyone else.

What do you mean "first with the news"? We aren't journalists. A bit of talk on here isn't going to make a difference either way .

I don't think Derry and Rovers are scrolling Orielweb's transfer wishlists for ideas. I don't think its a bad discussion to have with what others expect and see where we need strengthening.

Anyways, a successful summer for me would be getting Connolly and Macari sorted, while also getting contracts sorted for the squad before end of year and maybe adding a winger/Forward and maybe a more creative center midfielder, like a younger Ward. Maybe another center half, considering three of ours are in their 30s.

I would think Macari is almost def gone at the end of June, his deal was only 6 months I think. As for Connolly, I think I heard last week on one of the pods that his contract is not actually up at Dundee Utd and it runs until at least end of 2022, hence being 'offered' around. We won't have the financial muscle to outbid Glentoran and Linfield if they want him not the 2022 prudent run DFC in any case.

I'd abs love Connolly to stay though, been very impressed with him, top player.

Zak Delaney let go by West Brom was on loan at Bath this season. Left back and would be decent cover for Leahy, I'm sure someone in the league will snap him up.

Macari offered new deal by stoke and daryl horgan signs new deal with wycombe.

Hopefully it is the best interest of all parties that Macari extends the loan till the end of the season.

Stephen McLaughlin is out of contract at the end of June. A good experienced player, he can play in a few positions left back or midfield.
He'd be worth a punt ,if he wants to go back to Ireland

Connolly will be a tough one to keep, we absolutely want him to stay and he does too, but the post P6 set up with modest spending might have an impact, other clubs may offer more.

We are lucky to have Shep on a 2 year perm deal though, his stock is rising all the time. Super signing.

Is he on a 2 year deal? I thought it was just for the season.
