Waterford would have brought at least 100 fans to away games @ €15 a go Ucd bring nothing. I understand they won the right to be in the premier but the first division should be their limit.

Cant agree on this one .... UCD have offered way more to LOI players than Waterford ever will. How many of our current team played for UCD? How many LOI players made their names or developed there over the last decade? It is not always about gate money ... sometimes it is about giving talent a chance and they do that in combination with education. Garts, Benson,McMillan, Sloggett, Doyle going back to Alan O´Neill ... all played for UCD. Must be hard having brains, imagine using them to get an education and play football to have something for when your career ends!
It’s great for players to get an education but as I said the majority have played for and been developed by other clubs and given loi experience before playing for ucd. Unlike all other loi clubs they have no underage system to bring these players through so to say they developed there is an understatement. And as I said I’d much rather see a club that has a good following play in the premier rather than a school team that offers education to players (which can still be done in the first division)but nothing to the league.

Irish Superleague incoming.

Not much point in having a football league - or a manager and players for that matter - if the result on the pitch doesn't count. Did you - or your kids if you have any - ever play in a cup final? Imagine being told at the end of the Semi-final " we know you won but the other side have a nicer kit for TV and will bring more fans".
