Re: Flares and Fines
Drogheda security certainly stopped some flares getting in, but still a dozen or more in our end at 30+ in the home end

It's 800 per game for Flares. Cork City were fined 1600 for 2 games last seasonMartin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 2:28 pm I see the SSA are getting narky over the Pressbox podcast calling out the flares.
Big fines coming over last night’s ‘display’ in Weaver’s park., prob more than the €500 that I’ll update on the 2nd page of this thread.

Re: Flares and Fines
Time for the SSA to man up and step up with donations towards paying for the fines. All they are doing is sticking 2 fingers up at the club they claim to love and the worst thing about it is that the club know who the majority of these people are. Would make you consider as a fan or sponsor for that matter why you should bother putting money into the club if a percentage of it is going up in smoke every week.

Some of them lads retweet Andrew Tate on Twitter. If they are living in a Matrix they need to come off it.

Have to laugh with saying it's time for them "to man up"
Not a fcuking hope. The majority are pond scum without a brain cell between them.

€800 fine for last night. That’s €2400 already this season. Probably help to pay an extra player’s wages. Oh and I see the mighty Shedside Army are blocking people on Twitter who question them

So a flare was lit during the round of applause for the soldier. Was that to ‘create atmosphere’?? Another €800.

I used to get annoyed on here too about flares, antisocial behaviour and associated fines. We've had several different owners over the past 40 years including ourselves and nobody has tackled the problem properly and then it dawned on me that it has to boil down to simple economics.Martin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:37 pm So a flare was lit during the round of applause for the soldier. Cost of fines < Cost of professional stewards.

Re: Flares and Fines
Same with the infrastructure. Nothing will ever be done until fans protest with their feet and stop attending which we all know will never happen so owners more than happy to let us sit and stand in squalor as long as we keep paying to do so. Cost of sending out a token questionnaire every decade zero over cost of major facilities upgrades in the millions of euro.Louth4sam wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:31 amI used to get annoyed on here too about flares, antisocial behaviour and associated fines. Re: Flares and Fines
While running the risk of going off topic. We as fans need to do something about infrastructure as unfortunately nobody will do it for us. We need to look at Sligo's model and see how they raise so much and get the community involved. I think there is a massive opportunity for the supporters club and the new chair who I feel is an excellent appointment could be catalyst to getting the ball rolling.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:15 amSame with the infrastructure. Re: Flares and Fines
To be fair to the owners they have been quite clear that outside investment is needed for ground improvements or a new pitch. James Rogers said that you could spend nearly a million in OP and fans wouldn’t even notice.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:15 amSame with the infrastructure. Re: Flares and Fines
I believe there is fines for fans entering the pitch also so don't forget about those too.
But why wouldn't fans enter the pitch when there are no repercussions. The "stewards" just let them back to their mates in the shed instead of handing them over to the guards and the club issuing a ban.
