Seems very premature seeing two of their three losses in a row were against Rovers and Pats and they are very much still in the mix.

Now that would be funny. He's doing a great job but I wonder would they feel that they were burned with their last appointment from Drogs.

Was thinking same re Drogs man, but seems KD is a postie, he won't be giving that up to manage in LOI unless he gets a career break.

It is funny how the fixtures break for us. The last 5 games were against the bottom five teams, winning 4 (two home/ two away) and drawing the other (away). The next four games are against the top five teams (excluding us), with being away to the expectedly top two teams.

6 points out of the 12 from those four games will mean 19 from this round of games. This would average out at 76 for the season, possibly enough to win the league, but more likely finishing second. Only one win from those four would mean if this series was averaged out, it would be 64 - enough to finish comfortably in third over the last couple of years. No wins and all losses would average out to 52, not enough to finish 4th - meaning missing out on Europe without winning the cup.

Three wins from four would mean 88 points... definitely enough to win it.

Not saying this will happen or average out - on other days there would have been a loss to Cork and draw to Drogheda. But, still it puts things into perspective a little.

We have been poor for a while despite winning, but so have the other teams. Derry isn't that great at home, Bohs are hopefully running out of steam from a positive start, and Pats are just as shaky as us. Rovers are more vulnerable than ever but still have so much talent. It would be great if we could hit some form with the lads returning from injury to balance out the team (the difference Hoban made for example is just immense). Huge amount to play for.

Kian Leavy currently on loan at Shels has been released by Reading. Looked decent against us for Shels and is from Ardee so a local lad. Should be a player we are targeting to join us.

Absolutely, now after Mon night (and 85 mins v Cork !!) we don't appear to be in good shape going into euro games, but seeded first and second round will be confirmed, and means we will prob draw a FD type standard team in R1, then R2 could be tricky even with the seeding, if we make it to R3 that's a total mixed bag, could be anyone and prob have no chance.

But if we play in 3 rounds (sounds a big ask now) that will generate around 750k, possibly a little more.

Even more reason for us to ensure we finish 4th for not missing out again (in 2024), but back to current form our predicted finish will be more like 5th, maybe 6th unless we start taking team selections and to 'have a go' at better quality teams, two things we just gave up on v Derry.

Not allowed to talk about things like that .... you would have to wonder what the money is being spent on. They have reduced staff numbers, players are surely not on the big money our previous owners paid and not much has been done infrastructure wise.

Dundalk could get 3 rounds depending on some luck, but would they have the Squad depth with League games on a Sunday? Bohemians are 3rd in the table and have no European football this summer. Shelbourne will probaly add a few players in July and no European football. Sligo have been hit and miss but capable of getting back into challenging for European places.
