Dundalk vs UCD 05.06
5pm ko for this. Surely some changes will be made. Muller first for the chop. Boyle may not be fit for two games in 4 days so it could be Williams and Annelsey. I would like to see Malley drop out also, he spends most of his time hiding in games so wouldn't be missed.
McCourt out with another injury.
Sheps
Davies Williams Annelsey Leahy
Sloggett Doyle Ward/Lewis
Martin/O Kane Hoban Kelly

Lose today and Friday against Cork and our season is over. The excuses from management are wearing thin at this stage ,most of the olayers signed are not up to standard. This maybe maybe because of budget I don't know, but I lookat the drogs with half our budget and they have the enthusiasm and want to win.I don't see this with us the same excuses every week even the players are saying the same mantra.

An intensity in that game we haven't seen all season. Not sure how much that was UCD being bad or because we had a better balance to the side. Bad mistake for goal but it was all us after that.

Louie's last game: 5-0 win vs Pats
Return to action today:4-1 win vs UCD
The lesson? Annesley should play.

He was excellent today to be fair. Very assured on the ball and kept play going.

I'd say its down to UCD being one of the worst sides I've ever seen play in the premier division. Currently on 6 points, cant seem them getting much more.
Pat Hoban incredible feeding off balls into the box. 1700 attendance seemed generous with the dead atmosphere. A worrying trend for the clubs finances.

Boyle and Annesley will be out centre back partnership going forward and this brings a bit more optimism for sure. I think it's hard to draw too many conclusions overall though given the opponent. Friday is going to be tough with Cork on a 4 game winning streak, but today should do a lot for rebuilding confidence. Fantastic achievement for Hoban too and great to equal the record with a hat trick!

Hopefully proved he's fit enough to be in Gibraltar's squad for the upcoming game against Ireland too. They haven't announced their squad yet (probably will on Friday) and this game may have been a vital part of that, giving them a chance to see if he's properly back.

I know the game was won, but would have been great to have kept Pat on and try to break Joey's record at home with four goals today.holidaysong wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 8:26 pm Boyle and Annesley will be out centre back partnership going forward and this brings a bit more optimism for sure. pillowcase that .. at 4-1 up, it would have been great to give young Kenny and co a run out to see what they can do. Why have these lads in squad if their is no intention to play them.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 9:42 pmI know the game was won, but would have been great to have kept Pat on and try to break Joey's record at home with four goals today.holidaysong wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2023 8:26 pm Boyle and Annesley will be out centre back partnership going forward and this brings a bit more optimism for sure. Re: Dundalk vs UCD 05.06
I had a right moan after the Rovers game, so probably only fair to give some credit after this one! Obviously UCD are poor, but at least we showed composure and patience to control the game after giving away an awful goal. Another day that could have been 7 or 8-0. Great to see Hoban make history, I've no problem withdrawing him though in the middle of 3 games in 8 days.

Disagree, the team are going through a bad spell and confidence is low. In my opinion it's more important to finish the game strong and get confidence up. No point bringing on a bunch of young lads and letting UCD finish the game stronger. Those lads will get a chance eventually if they're good enoughPepsi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 5:03 pmpillowcase that .. at 4-1 up, it would have been great to give young Kenny and co a run out to see what they can do.
