Drogheda v Dundalk 23.06

Post by TrevDaRev2 »

Big one tomorrow night. Really hope Annesley and Boyle fit to start if wer to keep Draper quiet. Be great to get another 3 points up there. Wonder will Stevie go 442 again? I know Cork and UCD are both below us but system seems to work well and United Park being tight should be perefect for it but still not convinced of Pat playin in the 10 likes of Wardy might be better suited. Get Pat close to goal as possible. Cmon the town

No doubt it'll be the usual high octane madness, I'd be inclined to go for 5 midfielders myself. First goal so important in these games

I don't think having these game threads in a subfolder is encouraging conversation, fwiw

Another shocking first half display. Horrible goal to concede loads of possession but all sideways or backwards. Absolutely no urgency from team. V

Not sure we deserved that, but do I care, not one bit.

Amazing turnaround, and 3 wins on the spin now, a key take from the game, 2nd in a row we have gone behind and still won (both away).

Negatives, first half was pretty poor from us, apart from Hoban reaction shot on 45, and O'Kane effort before, we didn't trouble them.

Positives, Hoban - what a star he is, deserves all the credit hes getting. We are lucky to have him. What a player.

Great 3 points, just fantastic start to the weekend.

Don't think that we did enough to win but we probably deserve a bit of luck after the run of bad injuries we've had. Hoban has been outstanding for us and delighted for him that he broke the record.

The subs made a big big difference. We looked better at the back with McCourt and Elliot offered plenty of energy going forward. Nice to have options and competition for places especially with Europe coming up. It made a refreshing change for us only to have one keeper on the bench

Lucky to get away with a win in that game on the balance of the performance. Great three points though.

Delighted for Hoban

Thought we were the better team overall, we tried to play decent football throughout the game, but we still are really shit. This year's league is genuine shite.

It's all relative though isn't it. We are a win off third, 8 points off the top having gone through a sticky injury patch. You probably would have taken that at the start of the season. I think it's a combination of the bottom teams outside of UCD being a bit more competitive and the top teams not being as good.

Awful game for the most part, as usual down there. We rode our luck but those 3 minutes were glorious, that's why we love football. Hoban breaks the record then a fabulous break from Davies and O'Kane, a comedy red card for Drogs, 3 points and a rousing, glorious, hilarious chorus of Forever in Our Shadow. A good night out
