Draw could have been a lot worse. Yes Galway are in great form at the min but they are still an First Div team. How many teams steamrolled the first only to go back down the following season. Of course we will have to be firing but I fancy us in this one

Not sure what all the negativity is around drawing Galway. They are a first division team made up of first division standard players. Play to our abilities and we shouldn't have too many worries. Pats, Bohs or Drogheda are far stronger sides so was good to avoid them.

They are a team in form regardless of Division. Lost just once this season. Drogheda are in a relegation battle. Pat's and Bohs battling to get top 3. Galway can put all the focus into the Cup. But if you want to win the Cup you have to earn it.

Not wanting to be a doom & gloom merchant, but I agree that this is not a foregone conclusion. Galway have only lost once all season, and are unbeaten at home. They are already 16 points clear of Watertford (game in hand) with 9 games left. By the time the cup game comes along they will probably only need a couple of wins out off the last 6. They scored 5 goals on Monday. St Pats are the other side to put more than 4 past UCD this season. On the other hand we have not been playing that well. The one positive note is that we have no game the previous weekend due to the international window. There is, however, a full set of FD fixtures.

Did we not just struggle to beat a lower first division side in Bray? Galway are a decent squad will have a sizeable home following and are managed by Caulfield and so will be difficult to beat.

I don't think anyone is suggesting it's a forgone conclussion. No game we play is a forgone conclussion. We needed a late goal to get past Bray in the last round albeit in a hurricane and with 11 defenders behind the ball. I think playing Galway might suit us better as the game will be more open which would give our attacking players a bit more space.

Have a look at the players Galway have and how many would get in our squad never mind team? If O'Donnell wanted to sign their best five players for next season to push us for Europe, Orielweb would have a meltdown. They are a very decent first division side but if they do not strengthen they will be favorites for the drop next season unless another first division club win the playoff.

I am convinced the negative comments are bogies from other clubs , who have made their way on to Oriel web .
There is no way they can be genuine Dundalk supporters. Real supporters say positive things & some of the comments over the years have been hard to understand. It beggars belief that they call themselves supporters. Can anybody explain it .

Even when we beat Bray ( who parked the bus on an atrocious night ) no credit . We knock out Shamrock Rovers , not a dickie. WTF . Better off without supporters like that . He's a double winning manager with years of experience so probably yes.

He's a double winning manager with years of experience so probably yes.

Would you rather Caulfield over O Donnell and would he be doing a better job then O Donnell with the current squad?

Its the quater final of the FAI cup, there isnt going to be many if any easy games. We avoided Pats and Bohs and have a great chance of reaching the semis in my opinion.
