I doubt it will be big standard with a total cost of 40 million.

I think we need a bit more of a coordinated fundraising effort that throwing money into a hat (much as I admire Gearoid's commitment). I'm already paying for 3 season tickets, Patreon scheme, programmes, jerseys etc that help the club to budget. I've a limit to my disposable income, so I won't be throwing €20 into the pot. Even if I could throw in €100 or €1,000 it's hard to see how it'd make any difference to next season.

There's definitely a funding gap and a fundraising gap to be addressed though

For me sorry but this gofund me needs to close. It's making a complete and utter joke out of the club, making us out to be a complete basket case, and is showing us up in a poor light on loi social media platforms. It's a very ill advised reaction to a defeat. Whilst it was done with the best of intentions, it is damaging to our brand and our club.

Have to agree. Slaggin from rivals fans aside if the club are still actively seeking investment and someone stumbles across it it'll look woeful

They have every right to. That's what rival fans do. For me this was very ill advised and as I said makes us look foolish and amateurs. Any potential investors will run a mile as they will see there isn't a pot to piss in if fans are setting up GoFundMe.

Any investor with any due diligence on Dundalk would know they don't make money. Other clubs bring through young players and sold to the UK for a decent figure. Liam Scales,Dawson Devoy, Luke McNally, Eoin Toal some of the names from the top 4 clubs who went for good money.

When not making money on transfers, then fundraising like other clubs which Dundalk don't do either. Cork City had 2 Golf classics during the summer which made good money.

Deleted it, yes it probably wasn't the best plan in hindsight.

I do not think it would put any potential investor off, but yes it probably does not look great, I will get in touch with Orla and see if she has any ideas, perhaps something structured could be planned for next year when the weather is better.

Perhaps something like a penalty shoot out competition as part of a family day, something like the company challenge that the chamber of commerce arranged in oriel before, could be something that the chamber would get involved with & get local companies on board, but insurance is an issue in anything like that.

There is a list of items to invest / spend on and a go fund me wont even stratch the surface, in no particular order, the pitch (500K?), Seating / Cover (1m), Floodlights (500K?), then you move on to the small matter of funding the football side of things, with reduced revenue as gates are dropping, we 100% need investment, big numbers.

In 2024 we will get 550k from 2023 UEFA, then looking like zero in 2024.

Suggest to hand over any monies in the GFM to the 1903 but def close it.
