There should be a statue of Bill Hulsizer outside Tallaght Stadium.

It's been a poor season, I just hope that there's a bit more thought and imagination put into the recruitment because the attitudes of some (not all) of these young lads f*cking stinks. If we get a point in tolka or nick a win then we're not having this conversation.

Their choice at this stage of their career is either: make an impression or consider a career outside of football. Simple as.
Ah ffs wise up. Vandalism!! They spent the cash foolishly admittedly but they tried to progress us, take us to the next level. Yes it imploded, but what are the current owners doing? But hey they are local so it's ok everything is Rosey in the garden
You wise up. There was north of €4m in the coffers before they landed and they squandered every red cent. We became the laughing stock of the league with all the shite that was coming out from behind the scenes.

If a rival club put a mole in to destroy the club from inside out they wouldn't have done such a job. So yes, vandalism.

That was yet another dreadful display last night, the worst for me was 15 mins to go, knowing even a draw (2 points less for Shels) keeps some hope going, we never laid a glove on them.

Some crazy decisions really by SOD, taking off Doyle was madness, as was starting with Durrant instead of O'Kane, Kelly did virtually nothing and Martin should have replaced him at HT. I would also have hauled Brownlie off at HT in favour of either Boyle or Leahy, where is that guy gone to performance wise (Brownlie) from his sub perf v Rovers in the cup.

Once again Shep didn't cover himself in glory for their goal, add to his too late coming off the line for Drogs goal last week, he was at fault for 2 v Galway (and 2 in the KA games), but he's not alone, the body language of most of the team was just awful last night, most just accepting their fate of mediocracy.

Then we have the owners, silent. No one knows what their plans are for next season, not a peep from them, plus it will be a hugely competitive division next season, if we don't recruit well, and or get investment in, could be dragged easily into trying to avoid the play off.

Now I sincerely hope the club takes end of season review on what has to improve, the manager's position also should be looked at, but it may well come down to finances, what shape will that be in ?

Stop now Mike. Durrant is a class act and warrants a starting place.

Our current owners are there to keep the club a float and to ensure the future of the club, there is absolutely no money to be made in the LOI so expecting some money man to come in and give us free money with no return is the bollix. The current management team made up of yes men(ex players and mates) have been given a budget and between them bought a lot of terrible players. The few good players we do have are playing in a system that changes from week to week and makes them look like headless chickens. apart from okane we have developed little or nothing over the last few years and bar one or two even less have been brought into the first team. Unless someone on here can show me on paper the exact playing budget available I’ll continue to believe it’s not the shockingly low one that people on here tend to think. At the minute everyone is frustrated but whinging on about past owners and current owners with no solid evidence to prove spending is getting boring, in my opinion the team and management are the cause of frustration due to their awful performance all season with a lack of leadership, tactics and pride.

You have to be having me on Niall, he's scored one goal, and his crossing is poor, missed a certain goal first half home to Derry early Sept, I`m not impressed with him.

I’ll buy your defence of the owners however I’ve a genuine question, why won’t they run the club like a business? Fundraisers the fans can get behind , golf classics etc. Sligo raise tens of thousands every year. Why can’t Sean, Andy and Alan have a meeting and PR event with The 1903 and announce joint fundraising initiative??

Maybe the board could get involved in fundraising but the majority of these initiatives are usually run by fans(the 1903 or the shed side army) but there just doesn’t seem to be an appetite for it for some reason apart from goal times and match day programs, but blaming the owners for the shit on field recruitment and a budget that no one on here has a clue about is pure madness.

I agree that nobody on here or on social media has a clue of the budget but when asked about voluntary fundraisers, Sean Connor said that the owners goal was to embrace the business community!, why not do both? It’s not up to the supporters club to open and promote the LilyWhite for the odd big night as a fundraiser.
IMO we’re in such a shit place because EVERYTHING is going wrong; owners, management and players. All put together we have a perfect storm of finishing mid table, poor and predictable performances and no European money next season.

Some very good posts above , next season Will be really tough for us , you have to ask yourself what have we got that can attract decent players to Oriel park , the pitch is horrendous and dangerous and not even talking about the stadium, we have no European football to offer , I'm not sure what budget will be available so we'll probably struggle to match the Dublin clubs on that front , also I can't imagine the league being as poor as it was this season , I'm not sure how many players are under contract for next season but you can expect to loose Shepard and Davis and I'd be surprised if Galway don't try to lure Hoban away .

I wonder if the owners are up to running multiple companies. A general manager should be appointed for the day to day running so the owners can manage tgeir workload better.

If they want him for 2024 they will need to pay a transfer fee.

Davies is under contract I think, or at least 1+1 deal meaning club has the advantage, Shep contract up, would def want to keep him, but as said on other threads he's not been great since Gibraltar games, at fault for 2 v Galway and 2 in KA games in europe.

Shit onfield recruitment and poor budget ultimately go hand in hand wouldn't you agree? The fact that we are relying on a lot of loan signings 3 of which have been on 6 month deals also tend to side with a poor budget. Not slating Elliot off as don't think he's got a fair crack at it, but equally signing player from the Scottish lowland league would also equate to a poor budget. Having to do most of our dealings late in the tf window again imho equates to a small budget.

Ah Niall, we had millions and bought shit, so no a budget definitely doesn’t go hand in hand with a good or bad recruitment. Loan signing do go hand in hand with every loi squad regardless of budget, loaned players parent club often foot a good percentage if not all their wages so it makes sense to take on a few. As to the delay in signing players I can’t answer that but we need to be doing business a lot earlier be it player recruitment or managerial changes which is probably down to the budget available and yes this is another thing the owners could improve.

Is it just me or do Stephen O'Donnell's post match interviews sound like a journalist's match report? He seems to be stating all the obvious without actually accepting responsibility for the fact that - 33 games in - we are probably worse as a team than we were at the beginning if the season.

We have got worse, a lot worse !

As I posted yesterday just look at the second semi-final, we beat both of those 5-0 in the league this season.

Its been a dreadful season really, joint second last year to probable 6th this year, and we couldn't even lift it for europe, poor in 3.5 of the games, only phases of the home game v Magpies, apart from that we looked clueless.

The body lingo of some of the players v Shels was all wrong, almost an insult to the fans forking out decent money to travel and pay in.
