Yesterdays FAI Cup Final , should spell it out to the powers that be . A record atttendance of 40,000 plus in Aviva . The public have finally got of there arses & went to a football match to a stadium with proper facilities. Thousands of new young fans , willing to support teams , but where do the go from here , not Dalyer , Richmond , Tolka , Oriel , all falling down . I have been saying it for years , but to say fed up now would be an understatement .
Make the money available & the investment, The Minister for Sport needs to take action now & make the facilities available . Tolka , Oriel , Dalyer, Richmond etc need to be bulldozed out of it & proper facilities / stadia installed & don’t get me going on part time football in Co . Louth , that’s utter kill the game b—lix .

Good points, though Dalymount was given the go ahead for redevelopment. Shelbourne are looking to buy Tolka off the DCC.
FAI were in more bother last week with Sports Ireland suspending funding because of more chaos in the association.

Having their groud CPOed to make way for a motorway is a fairly nice chunk of luck to have.
However, fair play to their council for actually appearing to have some kind of vision and plans to back it up. I used to live in Wexford town years ago before I had a car and Ferrycarrig was a nightmare to get to so this really is excellent news for them.

What’s the story with Louth Co. Co. , does anybody know . I thought with the likes of Martin Connolly , Brian Gartland , Stevie O ‘ Donnell etc. we would have some vision going forward . What’s going on in the FAI. Sports grants etc. The long suffering supporters driving up to Rovers ground for Euro . matches . When Dundalk Fc thrives on the pitch , it benefits the town & the county . If we had a proper facility we would double or treble attendances , but Oriel in its present state is not a place you want to go to , end of story. The main stand is pathetic .
Great piece by Graham Gartland on RTÉ News App. about the potential growth of the game if the infrastructure is provided . We missed the boat in 2016 , when riding high in Europe , how disappointing that was . No Vision , No will , no balls . Govt . official in Co Louth included .

The Council would only try and get involved if there was proper plans with a Capacity. A rough sketch like what was in the paper recently won't go far.

Without getting into the politics of it all, it beggars belief that our governments biggest financial commitment to football on this island is likely to be the redevelopment of a GAA stadium in Belfast. That effectively says it all about footballs standing amongst those in power

And not even a guarantee Northern Ireland will be in the tournament to use it. 5 host nations, it's unlikely all 5 will be given automatic qualification for Euro 28.

The type of fees LOI clubs should get when tying down young players to longer contracts

Pats have tied down Melia to a 3 year deal, he will go for good money. anything about Senan Mullen getting a new deal?

I seen senan Mullen has been included in the U19 squad for euro qualification, fair play to him as that's a very talented squad with some of the most hyped up youngsters in the country, as far as I know senan is already 18 and finished school so unless he's under some sort of contract he's free to go , Melia and Romeo the young Waterford lad in the article are both 17 and can't move to UK until next year , pat's done very well to tie him down and also have Curtis, Murphy and lipsuic who will all get a decent fee if sold , Romeo is also tied down to a contract so Waterford can demand a substantial fee , to maximize the sell on fee you really have to tie these young lads down when they're 16 or 17 as once they hit 18 the ball is in their court .

Yeah Mullen is 18 and out of contract. He probaly hasn't done enough yet to get Uk attention, compared to Sam Curtis or Adam Murphy who have played a lot of first team football. But being involved with International underage teams would help the profie.
