Have you ever thought about putting advertisements on this site? It has really taken off lately with 300 new members since the start of the season. The money made from the ads could cover the costs of running the site with any surplus going to the dfc trust which would help the club.

I think alot of people would be happy if they knew the money was going to the trust or the club. If you take http://www.eleven-a-side.com thats riddled with ads and still used by most eircom league supporters

Jesus, I didn't realise 11AS had so many Dundalk based advertisers on their site! Although I gotta say, animated banner ads are OK, but animated sidebar ads are a no no! Plus they are way too crowded, makes me wonder if they are just placed there automatically by a script - horrible.

In any case, it's really not all that dear to pay for the hosting - but it's a good idea, and one I had planned on mentioning to Colin should we have been included in the "top flight". But given the traffic over the last while it would still work. Also a good idea that any surplus could go to the trust.

A few banner ads in rotation and maybe a few along the side might not be a bad idea L4S.

Few quid a year for an Ad wouldn't kill anybody like!

Would it not also involve making the message board public?
Don't know if companies would go for it if it is closed to member like it is now?

I suppose you could make the forum public but restrict people from voting on it unless they are registered
