2022 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals v2
OK, I'm starting v2 in the hope that there won't be a need to shut this one down well.

Rumours so far
Patching to Derry
Cleary to Rovers/Bohs/Scotland
Stanton back to Scotland
Sonni a cert to leave
Jurkovskis wants to go home.
Hoban to Pats/Linfield/Sligo
Murray wants to stay
Leahy wants to stay
Garts wants to stay
Bohs want Dummigan but he might stay
Shels want Sloggett but he might stay
Kelly?
McMillan?
GK???
For the lols Bohs winning the Cup and knocking Derry out of Europe would be funny, but for us it might be better if Bohs aren't in a position to compete for players. Three Dublin clubs with European money makes things harder for us.

Dan talking Brian Maher to Derry. Gartside may or may not want to stay and fight. Good keepers -Bob Prole wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 11:09 am Rumours so far

like strikers - are short supply and Mannus is not getting any younger, so he might go there. Personally, I think signing Maher is crazy unless you are in it for the money, as he will move across the water in 2022.

I'd let Leahy go he doesn't do enough for me, should be bombing down the wing whipping in crosses lacks pace and strength and doest get on the score sheet like massy did, its just my opinion lads.

I think Hoban would be the biggest loss if he left..His goal ratio over a number of seasons is excellent.
McMillan can still do a job, but not as prolific.
Maybe they'll bring in some gem on loan from the Premier League to fill the role

I doubt a player will be let go unless there is someone better out there.Alrightourfella wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 11:28 am I'd let Leahy go he doesn't do enough for me, should be bombing down the wing whipping in crosses lacks pace and strength and doest get on the score sheet like massy did, its just my opinion lads.
I dumped a girlfriend once for eating crisps in bed. After 6 months I would have settled for a bag of Quavers.

I think Sean Kavanagh is a free agent at end of December. He's had his injury problems but a really good player. Rovers have Barry Cotter for the left wing back role, Ferrugia can play there too.

I'm hearing 1 year deals for our best players is a thing of the past.. Hopefully we can tie down some of our best players now on 2-3 year deals. Also hearing the new Jersey is set to be a 3rd jersey and we won't be changing home/away this year.

All good news, glad we're not taking the mickey with a whole new set of shirts.
IT'S ONLY A RUMOUR but I've heard Chino, Terique and Taner are being released when their loan periods end.

I would imagine that isn't a rumour. All 3 not good enough. Writing is on the wall when Athlone send you back from your loan spell.

Best left back in the league. Couldn't see Rovers letting him go.
James Browne and keep Dummigan and we'd be in a good position

Rovers have signed up most of the Squad signed for next season. Kavanagh isn't a guaranteed starter there now, with the signing of Barry Cotter in July.
James Brown is meant to be St Pats bound. If Clancy took over Dundalk maybe he could persuade Mark Doyle

If they were not going to renew Vinny you’d expect to hear very quickly no? A ‘We want to thank VP and wish him the best of luck ‘ type statement. These guys won’t let it drag on like Newcastle did with Steve Bruce. What do you think?

Or maybe they may be after someone currently still in a job and waiting until after next weekend to see if they will leave their current employer or maybe possibly we are conducting our business in a professional manner and waiting for the current club to announce the departure something Derry would know nothing about.Martin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 21, 2021 3:56 pm If they were not going to renew Vinny you’d expect to hear very quickly no?
