I like Talbot and would've taken him last year when he offered his services to us but himself and Bohs have been patchy this year. His positioning for one of Owolabi's goals against Pats was amateur stuff.

I’ll leave this here as it does refer to the possibility of Hibs recalling Bradley next month. It’s an analysis of his stats. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/data- ... statistics

Hibs bringing in Aidan McGeady so maybe they'll leave Bradley out on loan. Bradley should be aiming to get to McGeadys level when he was at his peak.

Second best keeper in the league in my view - after Shepperd.
I'd put Talbot 2nd.
Talk today that a couple of SPL and a Championship side are interested in McGinty.

McGinty is the best keeper in the league. He has been impressive for a few years. Shepperd has done well i, but ts only half the season.

And McGinty signs a contract extension. Always nice when a player is prepared to trade part of a future signing on fee, for a bigger transfer fee for his current club.

We’re apparently in negotiations with Dundee to extend Connolly’s loan, no surprise there I suppose. Anybody hear anything??

4 weeks
01/07 (H) UCD
08/07 (A) Drogheda
15/07 (A) St Patrick's Ath.
22/07 (H) Finn Harps
w/e 31/07 (H) Longford Town

then
05/08 (H) Derry City
12/08 (A) Bohemians
19/08 (A) Shamrock Rovers.

On a separate note, Hoban may have disclosed this himself. If not, there is a mole within Oriel and Rogers is not endearing himself to the powers that be.

If Martin is fit and played we might get through this if we adjust our style of play. If we are pumping long balls up to McMillan expecting him to hold the ball up like Hoban we will start dropping points all over the shop.

Whether it is McMillan or Martin who comes in, the style of play will have to be adjusted. McMillan makes great runs and would benefit from having Ward in a number 10 role. He played his best football when he had players like McEleney orchestrating play.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen enough of Martin on the pitch to know how he would be best used. Is he a striker who can lead the line?

For me, the biggest concern with Martin is whether he can last 90 minutes. The club has been very cautious about game time and his knee is obviously still quite heavily strapped. It was telling that McMillan started against Shels. Whatever style of football we play, our CF is going to get kicked around the place. That's what teams do when we're second and they're not.

Martin scored 10 goals last season (more than Hoban when penos are excluded) for a team that was relegated and has scored 2 this season from the bench. McMillan has scored 4 goals since he re-joined. If we are going to accommodate either by rejigging style of play I think Martin is the best suited. There was some talk that Martin was struggling to shake off an injury hopefully the break helped with this.
