I suspect this will become the Away kit next season, and a new Home kit will be laumched. They will then be in a cycle of changing one kit each season - until we change sponsors. But you're right. There will be no European games, EA Sports Cup, or Leinster Senior Cup. Max 18 LoI Away (including clashes with Pats, Derry, Shelbourne and Sligo) and 5 cup ties. Maybe its to help the Welsh lads feel at home.

Without having a home or away kit change, I’d see this as a revenue generating jersey release. Oldfogey is probably correct about it being the away jersey next season. Although they may change if we make Europe and then I think both home and away jerseys would change for 2022/2023.

Anyone know how long the current jersey sponsorship has left to run?

God forbid I would ever agreed with Conor Hoey on anything, but I've just realised I'm not particularly inclined to type out their name.

I doubt there'll be a new home kit this season since the new players are wearing last seasons kit in photos etc, I hope I'm wrong because I really hate last seasons kit. I think I remember reading that the Bet Regal sponsorship was for 2 years.

We're definitely keeping both last year's shirts for a second year this time around anyway. The black and amber is being called the third shirt on umbro.ie and the new red one is called the away but the club has them the other way around. Looking forward to seeing the red one in the flesh, nice design and at least they colour matched the sponsor's logo this time. We'll end up wearing the black and amber more often all the same with all the clashes you've identified there. Rovers introduced a new away shirt which is white with green stripes, not sure they've understood the concept there.

You don't know the half of it. Among the suggestions that were rejected a "away kit" were a mankini, a ski suit, and packet of ham sandwiches.
