Brian Kerr finds it hard to give Stephen Kenny any praise. As a fellow ex LOI manager Kerr should be more supportive and, not like Liam Brady, Noel King

Desperate news for Michael Duffy. Carried off last night with what appears to be a broken tibia. I might hate Derry, but he never gave less than 100% in a white jersey.

He certainly gave less than 100% on the last game of last season. Hopefully he's back before the end of the season though and back to his best.

In fairness Vinny dropped him to avoid the conflict of interest, which I think was only fair.

I was not looking forward to facing Duffy, but sad to see that he was injured. Could be a very open title race this season.

He was under contract (a very handsome contract) and should have came on when he was told to do it.

No sympathy whatsoever for Derry as they were happy to hack down mceleney and McMillan last year causing serious injury to both.

Some people on here have very short memories.

1. We don't own a player for ever, any more than an employer owns you. It's not for us to hold on to a player until we don't want him any more, and spend the season slagging him off
2. He was a free agent and had not been offered a new contract
3. There was a distinct possibility 6 months ago that we wouldn't even exist this year, or would be relegation material.
4. He is from Derry, as is his partner and child. They have to live there. I'm not going to insult people by naming the "hardest" place in Dundalk, but it's nothing compared to Derry.
5. When Daryl Horgan left everyone swore we would never replace him. I would argue that - in terms of assists - that argument is long since decided.
6. As regards money, there were plenty of others on "handsome" contracts who never earned one penny for ANY time they spent on the pitch.

What a bizarre post. Not sure if any points are relevant to Michael Duffy getting an injury for another club yesterday. Maybe just an old.man arguing with himself...

If he was dropped why was he on the bench taking up a place that could have been used to give one of the youth players a bit of experience being part of a match day squad? The story at the time (which I believe) was he asked Vinny not to put him on. He's probably lucky that we still couldn't get Europe at that stage as a whole lot more would be made of it.

Cherrie can make the odd error ,and more of a back up.

Teams competing for the Top 4 like Bohemians, have 2 good keppers in James Talbot and Tadgh Ryan.
I think Shepperd has stepped up to the mark, wouldn't you agree?

Hello, friendly Brentford fan here. Was just wondering how Sheps and Joe Adam’s have been getting along with you? All the best for the rest of the season and hope we get to play again soon

Shepherd is doing well. Little bit of a shaky start but has gone from strength to strength in recent weeks and has become a fan favourite and got the supporters club player of the month award recently. Made a couple of incredible saves in recent games. As regards Adams the jury is still out on him. Has been ok but nothing special so far. Fair play to Brentford. Having a great 1st season in the EPL.
