Good for us and Europe especially if we can hang on to Connolly. Even if we don't sign anyone it'll still be a better window for us than all the cubs around us

True it's good for Dundalk. Promise the latest to be leaving, 3 year deal with Fleetwood. Keith Long gets a bit of stick, but Bohemians have lost a lot of quality players since last season.

That rovers v drogheda game has all the makings of a last minute rovers winner

Edit: was hoping to jinx them. Rovers go 1 up even though the ball went out of play in the build up. Typical.

Not to worry, Evan Weir didn't read your post. Alan Mannus booked - presumably for time wasting - while it's 1-1. Towell & Lopes went off injured.

Haha happy days. Rovers lucky to get a point.

Thought Drogheda played very well in the second half.
Markey looks a decent player and would be a good addition to the squad for us next season. I'd take Andrew Quinn back too as a replacement for Gartland who you'd imagine won't be here next season.

I don't know what type of player Richie Towell is now. More of a grafter then anything else. He was never great technically, but had excellent fitness and scored a lot running late into box. Most players in the league are very fit now, from when he last played in the leageu

He looks too bulked up from the weights.
Hhe.

Both Sligo and Pats are through which is brilliant for the co-efficient and I'd say probably good news for us considering they'll both be distracted from the league for a while longer

Fiar play to Sligo and Pats. Brilliant free kick by Shane Blayney. I though the Irish teams would struggle in Europe but that's a few very good results.

Might make the barstoolers take note... Especially as Sligo beat Motherwell.
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

The Scottish league is obviously bigger, but outside of the Old Firm the Scottish club struggle to get through a round. The likes of Hearts ,Hibernian are never involved the group stages of the European competitions.

For the first time this season I’ve genuinely started to think Dundalk can win the league. Here’s 10 reasons why:

1. They find a way to win even though not playing great all the time, like all the best Champions.
2. Clean sheets win you titles. We get a lot of them.
3. Constantly handling adversity, such as playing with 10 men for so long today and without arguably the most senior 2 CBs they started the season with (Connolly and Boyle).
4. Squad depth is key - summer window saw a net improvement to the squad.
5. Group stages will be a massive distraction for Rovers.
6. Derry can’t seem to win consistently or win big games.
7. Best GK in the League.
8. Best coach in the League.
9. Best CF in the League (got to stay fit).
10. If, and it’s a big if, we go and win at Tallaght, it’s game on.

I see your optimism and raise you Patrick Hoban in protective footware . Can’t argue with any of the above.

Might not be a big deal, but last night we surpassed our points total for 2021.
