Dundalk v Sligo Rovers | League Round 10 | Fri 15 April 2022 ko 19.45
Tonight's draw in Sligo by UCD means we stay one point behind in 5th. Liam Buckley is bound to be feeling the heat, which will make Friday night's game all the more difficult.

Big improvement tonight and we deserved to win. Tactically we were better and ok Sligo shaded the second half when they loaded up the middle but so what when you're two up and cruising. Plenty of good chances created and we didn't resort to lumping it as often. We're a point clear in 3rd place now, which is brilliant stuff and it feels like we're only going to get better from here.

A few weeks ago we may have bottled that so it's good to see everyone digging in and seeing it out. Green shoots, feel like we're one ingredient short of mounting a serious challenge. Currently 5 points between us and rovers and 8 between us and Derry.
Bohs conceding late to 9 man harps is a good result for us as well.

Significant improvement on last week. Dundalk moved the ball well and created great chances as a result. Hoban was excellent throughout.

Don't think we were great but were comfortable enough against a poor Sligo side up until the last ten minutes or so. I'm a little worried seeing Benson and Williams go off before Rovers as both are starters for me. Adams did very well in the centre when he came on which is a massive bonus. We all would have taken 3rd at the start of the season after ten games. If we can somehow take a draw against Rovers we have a decent run of fixtures coming up until we play Derry.

Dundalk weren't that great before the first goal. Sligo should have been ahead, Keena had a good chance when Shepperd rushed off his line and another shot saved. McGinty should have done better for the first goal, Dundalk improved a bit and passed it around better. Sligo stepped it up in last 20 minutes.
Mata looks a good player for Sligo.
Hoban lead the line very well again. He's hungry to break the record.

Delighted with the win, but not sure we did that much in the second half, we probably played better and drew some games, but 3 points and up to 3rd, yes sir !

I thought the tactics in the second half were right, Sligo pushed high up and left space in behind them to exploit. We tried to exploit this while retaining a tight defensive shield. Sligo created almost nothing.

I think the overall quality in the league has been poor so poor. I don't see the Irish Clubs doing much in Europe going by the first 10 games. Obviously a lot more football to be played by July ,but those clubs would have to improve.

I thought we were pretty good. It was good to see some fluency for once, with some nice passages of play. Good to see the likes of Williams and Adams stepping up when Benson went off. Sligo were poor in both games against us, the league is looking mediocre so far.
