Lack of pace being shown up in the Rovers team. Gannon a good League of Ireland player but not up to it in Europe, same as Hoare. Bradley doesn't tend to look outside of Irish players.

They've absolutely destroyed Gannon. He's never really performed well on the right of a back 5.

They'll be a wounded animal on Sunday. Only two days recovery time.

Rovers were embarrassing tonight. Gannon probably wont start vs Dundalk, will probably be Finn.

Byrne, Burke, Towell and McCann didn't start tonight ... Wonder if that was on purpose for the weekends match.

Rovers are a bang average team... No wonder we are so close to them.

That settles the question as to whether Bradley will play his strongest team or wlll be looking at next Thurs. Played half his 2nd team in the 2nd half and kept Jack on the bench. Strategy was all wrong, playing 3 at the back. At one stage, it looked as it was going to be embarrassing .Some people here have been saying for years that Hoare is not up to this standard, and it was shown again tonight.

I'd say they'll play near enough the same team with McCann and Towell coming in. Might give a start to Ferizaj. They are bang average however I'd be fearful of a player like Andy Lyons, Bradley messed up big time by selecting Finn over him when we beat them in Oriel.

Hard to know what will be the reaction to that humiliation. Shams will want to go out on Sunday and make a statement. However, we know that it is easier said than done. We have to get our performance right, that is within our control.

It’ll go one of two ways I reckon. Either they’ll want to forget about tonight and go at us or the heads could drop considering the Europa league group stage was probably their top priority and they’ve blew it. We could be playing them at a good time.
The natural balance of Irish football has returned for good.

I wouldn't say they blew it. They knew they had the safety net of the Conference league where they can realistically complete and pick up a few points with good money on offer. Last night's game was a free hit,if they really wanted they come have risked Jack Byrne from the start.

Burke and Emaku were others missing.

Richie for a team of their budget in our league they were rubbish. They were lucky it wasn’t a cricket score. They seem to have a special talent for conceding goals in the last minutes of European games thus rendering the ties more or less over

If we win, it really is game on for pushing the league. If somehow we get the three points, our run-in doesn't look too bad.

9 games after this Rovers game, with 5 at home. Sligo, UCD and Harps away (we could feel confident about winning each of them- Sligo is a very inconsistent team).

Home to Shels and Drogheda (much better than playing them away), Pats at home (which is difficult), and then Sligo and Bohs at home. Again, all look pretty winnable. Finish with an away game to Derry though.

If I'm correct, our great mid-season run was the same stretch of games- gives us a bit of hope.

Rovers have 7 European games left (and two not scheduled league games as well). They have trickier away fixtures coming up than us too in Bohs, Drogheda (after a European game) and Shels. (Sligo and UCD away as well). They also play Derry at home after a European game. For me, there are more obvious places to drop points there than with us (especially if they have to play St. Pats after a midweek game).

Be interesting to see what team they will play, and what they will try to do. I guess Finn, Towell, and Byrne will all start. Be interesting if Burke does- if not Gaffney and Greene (get your betting dockets ready) would have put decent miles in their legs on Thursday for 33-year-olds. My guess is they will try to constantly kill the game and play for a draw though.

For us though, we need big shifts from everyone. How Bone and McCourt do will be massive. Martin as well. I hope we can get him into goalscoring positions, and not just make him do donkeys work. Can we counter their wing-backs with our wingers? Don't know. Lewis and Benson would add a lot to the team I would think for this game.

So, if ever there was a day to leave it all on the field it would be Sunday. Play high tempo, push them everywhere, hit them hard from the start, get straight into Byrne. Really, chances like this don't happen too often. Its a huge opportunity for us. And kind of a free hit. Only 3 away wins this year... Its a big ask to go to Tallaght and win though.

I think Rovers are going to be looking to make a statement after that result, would make a win or even a draw all the better.

I'll be driving from Dundalk on Sunday & back if anyone needs a lift as I've a few free seats.

Hard to know what to expect from this one, could go either way. I have a feeling however that we may miss Hoban and that could make the difference.

60 minutes to kick off and neither RTE nor the Independent has a preview of the game.

When the hacks come looking for halftime freebies and post match interviews I hope they told to take a hike.

Shepperd
Macari
Lewis
Bone
Benson
Sloggett
Martin
Leahy
Bradley
McCourt
O'Kane

Subs: Ward, Adams, Hauge, Mountney, McMillan, Cherrie, Byrne.

Only 7 subs including 2 keepers. Mountney - or sacrificing Sloggett - are the only 2 potential defensive options on the bench.
