What's the rule with UEFA regarding temp stands for european qualifiers? Is it that they have to be closed off for the matches or aren't allowed to be erected at all?

The last thing I can remember was that that they had to be in place quite a while before any fixture. I would imagine this was to facilitate approval when the ground gets the all clear. They may well have been banned completely since then.

They are looking to bring back Terracing in the European comps. Being trialed this season for the big 5 leagues. but Italy and Spain didn't meet the criteria.

I think it has to be erected on a solid surface, so town goal is out, carrick road goal where it was twice before might work. But that is only for 3 rounds I think, beyond that its Tallaght, that said I think we can only do 2 rounds in Oriel.

Just seen another picture of Bohs' temporary away stand, its pretty decent.

It really is truly shameful that no owner in the recent past, after 10s of millions of European earnings, could provide an upgrade of that nature to Oriel.

One of our main sponsors is a car dealership - surely an annual win a car draw could raise decent funds for ground redevelopment?

It wouldn't be breaking the bank either. Terracing is cheaper then seating. Look at the money wasted paying fines and to players who didn't work out.

Imagine one of those behind each goal. Would give the ground a massive lift and wouldn't cost a whole lot. Ok, it can't be used in Europe but it would look a whole lot better than an empty space. Make that the signing/ultra section and create a family area in the shed for league games.

That would involve progressive thinking on behalf of the club which apparently seems to be lacking.

Even ONE of the goals...................town end...................but we can dream on.

Bohs had this up within 6 weeks I think, possibly less.

Interesting decision on the shenanigans at the Markets Field last season.

With 6 Category A Dublin Derbies this year (plus us x 2) it will interesting to see just how much "Accidental Force" Bohs new temporary stand can actually take.

I know the Thread Police - of which I'm one - will scream that this belongs elsewhere, but I think it's relevant in terms of some calls here for a similar stand in Oriel where there is NO pre-existing stepped concrete base.
