Supposedly close to signing winger sam durrant from Sheffield Wednesday. That more or less rules out horgan.

As I have said on many occasions, this will end in tears! Shels have signed Harry Fisk, a 5th choice keeper from Hull and Harry Wood, a failure from Hull on loan and the 2 million investment includes fees, wages for these two chancers. Like the previous three transfer windows under his control, the owner has not spent a penny so far, he has signed Liam Delap on a 12 month loan from Man City and is looking at other loan options for other signings this window. He has released all relatively high earners at the end of their contracts and is conning the fans and the manager at Hull City. Damien Duff is no fool and has rumbled him.

Duff would have been aware that were going to bring in a few players from Hull. But probably would have liked a say on which of the academy players. but Shelbourne were happy to get investment so just have to get on with it

Such a pity we aren’t offering Shepard a new deal, he is the best shot stopper in the league.

Hogan playing a friendly for Wycombe today.

Kabia signs for Cork. Could do with a holding midfielder and a winger before the window closes if possible.

I've a really bad feeling he'll end up at Rovers.

A few League 1 clubs were supposed to be interested. A lot of players from LOI have moved there in recent years. Performing well in Europe will get attention also

Disappointing that our current owners seem to have little interest.

I can't see why they wouldn't be interested unless demands are too much..

I heard what Sheppard wants is minimal for starters never mind getting another body on board. Horgan is unrealistic to be fair as he would have a chance of earning more in league 1 or two but we should be strengthening the squad going into the business end. Europe again next season is a basic €300k to €800k in the coffers so it would make sense to go and strengthen. However as seen with Connolly going to Derry the owners seem to have little interest. So the question is why come on board? Tax reasons? Or to benefit statsports in so way? Next season will it be a whole team of loan signings? Will O'Donnell hang around for that again? If we don't make Europe next season who will get the blame? Probably the manager, when really the owners seem unwilling to back him .

Derry had to pay a fee for Connolly as he had 12 months left on his contract at Dundee United. They were also able to offer better wages then Dundalk. Dundalk didn't have European football last year so the money wasn't there.

So what's the excuse this season?
