Re: 2023 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
Time will tell if this is a good investment or not. Who knows what Daryl Horgan we are getting back? The one that left us was unplayable against and would be brilliant. But is he the same player? We all thought Towell would come back and tear the league apart and Damien duff too, but didn't happen. Having said that delighted Daryl is back with us. Now if we can just get Shep done and dusted.

Great news and a well timed announcement.
We were masters of this under Kenny. Be a serious buzz around town now in the build up to Thursday

Not the owners job to determine if a player is good enough just to back the manager and they have here, big time. Agree on Sheps.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:26 pmTime will tell if this is a good investment or not. Who knows what Daryl Horgan we are getting back? Re: 2023 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
He's only 30, has a good few years left in him. You could largely put his stint in England falling apart down to his family situation, thankfully his kids seem to be doing well, so I'm absolutely delighted that he's back in an environment that he'll be well used to.
The only question remains is where do we play him? Back on the left wing or behind Pat as a number 10, where he's been playing in the UK?

It could be related to any of his clients, but maybe all his UK based ones have clubs already with them kicking off this weekend.

Horgan could and should be a great signing. To be honest I'm trying to moderate my excitement. He was, for me, the best player in the best team the league has ever seen. He's had six years playing pro football in proper pro leagues. 17 caps. And he's still only 30. This could be massive. And presumably he's not coming particularly cheap, so a statement of intent from the owners?

Re: 2023 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
Another player or a potential resigning rumoured to be on the way on top of all this.
For all the stick the ownership have gotten, since they've come in they've:
- poached one of the best young coaches and a club legend from a league rival
- renewed the contract of top scorer and club legend Pat Hoban on a long term deal +when he had offers elsewhere)
- resigned Robbie Benson
- resigned 17 cap Ireland international Daryl Horgan
Don't want to hear a peep for the rest of the season about them not backing us. Utter crap.

Great to see Daryl signing, now it is over to him to prove he is worth his contract. Lets hope he does not flop á la Towel.
Anyone hearing anything on the investor side of things .... I am told by the Blackrock coffee drinking mafia that LiveatOriel seems sure this only happened because of outside investment.

I still think DH best role for us is middle of MF, no 10 role, he could do that role in his sleep, play maker.
Dan McD (Indo) seems to think its not true on outside investment, but who cares, we have a decent player and for 2.5 years too it seems, this is a very good bit of business by the club, a definite statement and a real boost going into tomorrow, of course he cannot play, but still its a boost to the panel as nothing stopping him training / being around.

Re: 2023 Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
Stumbled across this video from a Wycombe supporter (curiously wearing an Armagh GAA top) and I think it gives us an idea of what DH we're getting back. Was decent at championship level and for whatever reason struggled at league one/didn't fit into the managers system. I had seen a couple of Wycombe supporters on twitter say that they would've offered him a short term deal as they still felt he could have an impact with them after his appearance in that friendly game recently. I do largely believe that his family situation impacted his spell with Stevenage as well.
