Chelsea are all that is wrong with football now. Boehly spending like there is no tomorrow. Enzo Fernandez for 120m based on the World Cup? He joined Benfica last July for 14m.

Boehly reminds me so much of Bill. Absolute cowboy.

I think you call it the American way of doing things, everything with a bit more glitter. They see things very differently to us and are very numbers driven, however no one can blame them for not trying to spend.

Lawrence Shankland is a player I sometimes think about of what might have been. Possibly id'd by Andy Burton but he was sounded out at our peak era and possibly around 2017.
Since went on from Ayr and banged the goals in for Dundee United & now Hearts.

More of a back up signing. Molina the Argentine player is right back at Atletico..be good if Doherty gets game time.
Window closing in UK tonight. There will probably be some more business from Dundalk and other clubs with loans or free agents.

Quite a few people people felt Quitirna would have been a good acquisition. Seems his visa wasn't in order and he's gone back to Fleetwood who have sent him out on loan to Altrincham. Waterford have been given some NI u21 lad who had his loan spell with - you've guessed it - Altrincham cut short.
It seems having a linkup with an English club isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I live in Altrincham and saw Chris Con Clarke (ex glentoran) play last home game. He stood out a mile in a decent enough standard (National League). He scored two cracking free kicks and had great touch and vision. I was thinking he'd be a good one for us and interested to see how he gets on at Waterford whose link with Fleetwood Town may pay dividends here. I'd say the Altrincham fans are gutted - they were all singing sign him up at the end of the game.oldfogey wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 5:09 pm Quite a few people people felt Quitirna would have been a good acquisition. True story. Offered him a contract in April 2019 to join that summer. Would have been an absolute beast in the LOI and massive for Europe. Done great things since his Ayr days.
