Would be really surprised if he left.
Shels have Conor Kane there for next year. Sligo and Rovers are in the market for a left -back... Possibly Derry as well for depth.

If Leahy goes, there is not much choice to replace him in Ireland.

Evan Weir from Drogheda and Conor Kane of Shels would be solid additions, but both are under contract for next season. Maybe we could make a bid for them, and send John Martin the other way to make it happen? That would be the only option, or more than likely we would be going back to Britain for a player.

This is the problem with possibly losing Leahy, there is no obvious choice to replace him and you would be doing well to find a player the same standard as him.

Contracts were offered to Ben McCormack, Dylan Duffy, and Evan Caffrey (who is rumoured we missed out on ... Twitter says to Rovers). Contracts were also offered to Boyle and Leahy.

No mention on Ward, Benson, Gartland and McMillan. Sam Bone seems to be leaving.

• If I had a Spanish girlfriend I'd emigrate too.
• I would expect BFG to start taking an active role in coaching as he did one of his badges recently alongside Hoban and Massey. Hopefully that will be with us. Having said that, the way he played against Derry was up there with the best of Mark Connolly. Definitely has another season in him.
• McMillan may finally decide to pick up his career as an architect. The problem for him is that O'Donnell will be looking for a younger player as a long term replacement for Hoban, so he will always be 3rd choice and short on game time.
• Benson has consistently refused to sign anything other than a 1 year deal. It has however been a question of when rather than if he moves into Financial Services. His difficulty in shaking off injury this season might well influence his next career move.
• Keith Ward on the other hand is like the Energiser Bunny and has plenty to give for a few more seasons. Definitely want to keep him, especially as we only have 2 specialist wingers.
• Disappointed about Hauge going back as I thought he would do well with a full preseason.

Simply put, we've work to do. Dylan Duffy came on against us in a match at Oriel earlier in the season and impressed me but haven't heard much of him since.

Yeah, would definitely like to see Hauge back, Gartland and Ward too. I guess if we are linked with Caffrey and McCormack, I would assume Benson is on the way out since Doyle, Slogget and Lewis

Johnny Kenny has been recalled by Celtic after a pretty disastrous loan spell at Queens Park. Still only 19, I wouldn't be surprised if Celtic loaned him back to a LOI club to try for him to get some form again. John Mahon is the 5th centre half at St. Johnstone, I too would expect him to be moved on from them in January- wouldn't know where tho- but we would need at least one player of that profile in defence for us to improve.

Scottish clubs, apart from Celtic and Rangers, aren't swimming in money like English clubs, and if they can trim some fat, they will do it when they can. Im sure, however, Hauge will have many international suitors.

Plenty of Irish lads contracts in the League two and the SPL/ Scottish Championships are expiring in summer 2023... Worth keeping an eye on if some want to move home. The players we have been linked with so far are all under 20. If we sign them (all unlikely of course) and use the same kind of policy that O'Donnell has followed over the last two seasons of singing young players from Britain on loan or permanently, it would be great to steal some experience and quality (ala Connolly). For example, Conor Masterson, Danny Grant, Shane McLoughlin and Conor Shaughnessy, all haven't played much in the English lower division, and are out of contract soon next summer. Bohs signed Declan McDaid and John O'Sullivan from a similar profile, so not beyond the crazy to think - just like any player though, you have to make sure they want to play when they come.

Kenny jumped the gun joining Celtic at 18. A great offer to go Celtic, but he turned Hibernian where he had a more realistic chance of getting game time. Plenty of other young Irish players went to Celtic and were nowhere near the first team. Luca Connell, Lee O Connor, to name a few.

The majority of these lads like Kenny would be far better off getting two or three full seasons of senior football in the LOI before heading off rather than jumping at the first chance to move.

Absolutely. Kevin Doyle was 21 when he loved to Reading and went on to have a good career in England.

Really hope I'm eating my words, but i've had a look at playrfits socials and their designs in my opinion are underwhelming, hopefully quality and price points are redeeming

If this is their entry to a high profile club you'd hope they are giving us an incredible deal to get their foot in the door and use DFC as a template to sell to other clubs. Otherwise the risk is all with us
