On a separate issue, I heard over the weekend that O'Donnell and the owners are barely on speaking terms.
Apparently/Allegedly! StatSports had a long list of potential signings form the UK and O'Donnell blanked them all
because he wants to do everything "his way". Of course it's most likely bullshit, you know how stories start when things
are quiet. Anyone got any good news?

Don't know if it's true but really hope it isn't.
O'Donnell is the manager, he picks the players and the team.
Delete Statsports from the above and replace with Bill Hulsizer.
We've been here before.
Leave aside for a moment the question of whether there is any truth to this. Everyone was delighted with StatSport's involvement in taking over the club becuase of their connections with clubs in England, and further afield. IF they present a list of players that they think might be worth looking at and IF that list is either dismissed out of hand, or they are all deemed unsuitable, then something is wrong somewhere. They can't both be right.

Any comparison with Bill Hulsizer and the new owners is disrespectful both to them, and our intelligence.

Wouldn't have Coughlan anywhere near the place. Depends on the size of list and type of player on it. SOD has a set way of playing a particular player profile for each position. Wouldn't be unheard of that managers and owners might disagree on signings, par for the course

Cool the jets lads , & let Stevie do his job . Was one of the best mid fielders in the League & he knows what he has to do , to put Dundalk back at the top . Of course he has to get the backing & bring in the players he wants . It’s not something that is automatic .

I agree totally, we can never the hole that statsports got Dundalk out of. But, if those rumours are true it's not good, I've never heard of a situation at any club, of the board telling the manager who to buy working out well.

Anyway, let's see what happens tonight, some fairly big rumours doing the rounds.

Exactly as is said, and I have been out and about town quite a bit since first hearing it here. I don’t think it has grown legs, and most likely much ado about nothing.

I've heard a rumour myself but gc has changed his original post that I put the ??? to . Rumour I heard wasn't about playing personnel or a rift between the owners and manager.

HOPEFULLY, this rumour is just because Mike was at the game tonight because if it is anything else God help us….The reason we had to endure that shite performance on the pitch tonight is that the P6 fcuked the best LOI team ever, sold its best players to our biggest rivals and squandered 6m in the bank.

He is no longer part of peak 6. And by the looks of tonight's performance we are going nowhere fast.

4/5 trophies 19 , europa cup run with giovanni 20 , 21 awful , 3 managers because of fan pressure , 22 ship steadied

p6 out ! check

ex player player sod in ! check

poor squad building and investment years later

....

p6 ' s fault !

hard to pin down the logic , but can't help thinking reactionaries in the stands , not backing manager is the problem .... get fully behind manager and we'll be ok
